Assembly Overview:

  • Kindness Coach introduces the 21 Day Kindness Challenge & the Student Leadership Team: 5 minutes
  • Students explain how the Kindness Challenge works

Student 1:

“We are excited to bring the 21 Day Kindness Challenge to our school this year! We believe we can do 10,000 Acts of Kindness at our school! Clap with us if you think we can do this.”

[Everyone start clapping]

Student 2:

“The way the 21 Day Kindness Challenge works is… every student, teacher and staff member on campus is asked to do and record 5 acts of kindness every day for 21days. Here are some examples of kind acts that we can do:”

Student 3:

“Give someone a flower!”

(Student walks out to the audience and gives away a flower)

Student 4:

“Write a kind note and give it to someone!”

(Student walks out to the audience and hands out the kind note)

Student 5:

“Give something sweet to someone!”

(Student walks out to the audience and hands out the sweet)

Student 6:

“Give someone a hug!”

(Student walks out to the audience and gives a hug to a teacher)

Student 7:

“Say something kind!”

(Student walks out to the audience and says something kind to someone).

Kindness Coach: “Let’s all do that. Right now. Look at the person sitting next you. Look them in the eyes and say, “I am so glad you came to school today!”

“It’s that simple.”

“Now the students will tell you how you can record the acts of kindness you’ve done or seen.”

Student 8:

“We want to see how many acts of kindness we can do at school.

When you do an act of kindness for someone, or when you see an act of kindness happen, you can record the actionby doing the following…”

Student 9:

“Write down the act of kindness on a Kindness Strip and put it in the Kindness Box. (point to the Kindness Strip). Every classroom will have Kindness Strips for you to fill out.”

Student 10:

“When you fill out the Kindness Strip, you put it in your classroom’s Kindness Box (point to the Kindness Box). There will be a Kindness Box in every classroom and in the office. Teachers, there will be a Kindness Box in the teachers’ lounge for you to use if you would like.”

Student 11:

“We encourage your class to build your own kindness chain and hang it in your classroom. However, if you need help building your kindness chain we’d be happy to help. Please let the student leadership team know!”

Student 12 (optional if your school purchased Kindness Cards):

“If a yard duty, teacher, parent or student helper spots you doing an act of kindness we will give you one of these (hold up or point to the Kindness Card).You should fill in your name, date and teachers name of the back of this card. Then you can put the card in any of the kindness boxes on campus. The card will be added to the school Kindness Chain.”

Student 13:

“Teachers, you will be receiving a weekly kindness project suggestion information sheet that you can do with your students in the classroom to help us with spreading kindness. Remember there are daily videos for you to watch during the 21 Day Kindness Challenge.”

Student 15 (optional if your school purchased wristbands):

“Everyone will receive a Kindness Wristband (hold up your wrist with the band on it) that you are asked to wear everyday for the 21 Days of our Kindness Challenge. Thank you for listening and please remember to record your acts of kindness!”

Adult:

“I know each of you have the power within you to change the world. Let’s all work together tosee how many acts of kindness we can do during our Kindness Challenge! I believe you, all of you, can change the world with kindness – let’s start today!”
