Introduction

Voter registration is a critical point on the road to Election Day participation. Yet every year, millions of Americans take a wrong turn, missing a critical voter registration deadline or failing to update their address. Since the holiday was founded in 2012, over 1.6 million voters have registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day.

Without presidential or congressional elections in 2017, registration deadlines and resources were not as prominently highlighted. Knowing this, we lifted up the importance of county and municipal elections by engaging organizations and partners at every level, from national brands to local groups, with a ‘Be Vocal Vote Local’ message.

We’re proud to say that National Voter Registration Day 2017 was a great success! An amazing 2,851 partners participated. Thanks to their collective efforts, 124,290 voters registered or updated their registration on National Voter Registration Day.
