NAIA Information:
Postseason Conference Qualifier Meet Entries: must be submitted by Midnight Central Time on Thursday, October 26 at Entry instructions are in your NAIA coaches’ manual.
●Note: For the national championship meet, we will retrieve entries from the qualifier meets. There is no separate meet entry needed at this time. After the field is set, coaches for team qualifiers will need to declare their top 5-7 runners. Individual qualifier entries will be transferred to the national meet file automatically.
Declaration of Intent Fulfillment:Per the National Administrative Council, all teams that have declared to compete in Cross Country post-season must FINISH their post-season conference qualifying meet with a minimum of five runners in order to fulfill their declaration of intent.
Individual Qualifying Standards for NAIA National Championships :
For each gender, individuals must qualify for the national championships at a postseason conference/independent/ unaffiliated championship meet based on the following standards for conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings of 12 or more teams:
●Top 6 finishers not on a qualifying team (automatic or at-large)
●Individual overall finish must be 20th or better
KCAC Information:
Course Preview: The 2017 KCAC Championship Course will be available for preview on Saturday, Oct. 28
Parking: Team Bus and Van parking will be near the clubhouse. Spectators will be directed to 1 of 2 parking areas at a fee of $10 per car.
Bib #’s and Race Chips:Heartland Timing will be taking care of the timing for this year’s championship races. Each athlete will have a specific bib # as well as a chip to wear during the race. Bib #s should be attached to the front of the uniform singlet. Chips should be placed on the shoe and securely attached.
●Note: All chips need to be returned directly after the last race. (A $25 per chip fine will be assessed for any not returned.)
Awards:The awards presentation will be streamed live on the KCAC Digital Network immediately following the completion of the second race (approximately 12 p.m.)
●KCAC medals are awarded to the top 20 finishers in the men’s and women’s races.
●The top 20 finishers in the women’s and men’s races in the KCAC Championship Meet are designated All-KCAC.
●Team plaques are awarded to the championship team as well as the runner up team in each race.
●The KCAC Cross Country Coach of the Year for both men and women will be selected by a vote of the head coaches.
