NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising Conference

The Student Affairs Fundraising Conference is sponsored by NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education as a two and a half day professional development forum for professionals with specific fundraising and external relations responsibilities for student affairs divisions. The primary audience includes new and seasoned development professionals, and senior student affairs officers. The Conference facilitates an exchange of strategies, ideas, and resources between participants regarding fundraising for student affairs. Conference educational sessions promote an exchange of best practices andassistattendeesinidentifying successful programs. The Conference will occur over two and a half business days in July 2016.

The Conference is co-sponsored by the NASPA Student Affairs Fundraising and External Relations Knowledge Community (KC). The vision of the KC is to enable NASPA members to develop fundraising knowledge and skills to enhance programs and services for student affairs at their individual institutions. The KC provides a professional home within NASPA for professionals working in, or connected to, student affairs fundraising and external relations. The KC provides student affairs officers with a place to connect for the latest fundraising strategies and information.

Previous Conference host institutions include University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University (2005); University of South Carolina (2006); University of Illinois (2007); Georgia Tech (2008); University of Florida (2009); University of Missouri (2010); the University of Utah (2011); the University of Louisville (2012); Louisiana State University (2013); and the University of Houston (2014).

Host Institution Requirements

In order to host the 2016 NASPA Veterans Conference, your institution must commit to providing and coordinating the following services in the most budget conscious way possible:

  • Onsite coordinator (Specify person to be a part of the planning committee)
  • Onsite staff support
  • Complimentary meeting space (Large group meeting space for a minimum of 80 people, and at least 3 breakout spaces in close proximity to the large group meeting space. One small conference room for staff office.)
  • Complimentary audio and visual equipment and support
  • Coordination of institute logistics (i.e., room reservation, directions, signs, meals)
  • Coordination of onsite registration (i.e., check-in, name tags, notebooks)
  • Coordination of ground transportation to and from local events. In the cases of institutions which are located more than 25 miles from a major airport, assistance with ground transportation costs for participants is welcomed and encouraged.
  • Provide a reception for Conference participants on Sunday or Monday evening
