February 4 Meeting: Oxford Hotel; Presenter Greg Pollack-Financial talk-new tax issues. Exhibitor Mt Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) focus on children. Sponsor to be found to provide gift certificate ($100 suggested) for member give-away; sponsor will also be invited to exhibit. ACTION: Linda L to contact MBSEF. ACTION: Kristine T. to solicit sponsor to provide gift certificate.

New Officers: Pat Brown interested in being on Executive Committee. Ripdeep Mangat interested in being nominated for President Elect. ACTION: Helen to sent Pat B. EC meeting notices. ACTION: At Feb. 4 meeting, Sani to present Ripdeep M. as President Elect nominee, open nominations from floor, members to vote.
Local Business Discounts: Two draft letters soliciting business discounts were reviewed; shorter letter was accepted with changes noted. ACTION: Helen to print letters and coordinate mailing and calling businesses.

COMS website:Archie B. reported on 2012 usage: 14,138 unique visitors; 24,092 visits; 81,331 pages viewed; 207,157 hits; 6/51 GB bandwidth used.
Sponsors at each meeting: Kristine T. committed to finding sponsors to provide gift certificate ($100 suggested) for member give-away at each member meeting. Sponsor will be invited to exhibit at meeting, will be listed on COMS website, and noted in meeting emails to members (time sensitive). Ticket will be placed randomly under dinner plates, sponsor will be introduced and members will look under plates for winning ticket.
Child-Oriented Exhibitors: Linda L. committed to finding local youth activity programs with hands-on activities to exhibit at each meeting. Suggestions: MBSEF, Cascade School of Music, Cascade Indoor Sports, Art Station, Karate School.
COMS Promotion: Announcements at Grand Rounds Lectures. Request that brief COMS info announcements be made by Sani A. or Helen at beginning lectures on a quarterly basis; place COMS pamphlets on chairs/tables; show COMS website on screen. ACTION: Helen to ask Tracy Parmele if announcements can be made.
Recruitment: Invite non-members to each meeting-$25. ACTION: Helen to add to each meeting notice--Members to invite colleagues to meetings and notify Helen.
Marketing: Discussion on providing COMS promotional materials (pens/hats/cups). ACTION: Helen to price cups with COMS logo.
Fundraisers: Walk-a-Thon at Family Day to benefit local non-profit (VIM, Kids Center, Saving Grace) ACTION: Kristine & Helen to organize.
Photographs taken at Member Meetings: Have local photographer available at member meeting to take photos of members/family. ACTION: Sani to request photographer to come to any of the meetings that they can.
Announcements at Member Meetings: Request announcements from members before each member meeting. At beginning of each meeting president to give announcements and introduce any new members.
