FOUR YEAR OLDS
FUNDED PROGRAMS
Kindergarten programs are funded by the Department of Educationand Early Childhood Development using the following eligibility criteria:
- Children must have their fourth birthday by 30 April in the year ofattendance at a funded kindergarten.
- The kindergarten program must be delivered in premises licensedunder the Children’s Services Act 1996 or its successors.
- The children’s service providing the kindergarten program mustcomply with all of the licensing requirements outlined in the Children’s Services Act 1996 andChildren’s Services Regulations 2009 or their successors.
- A trained teacher holding an approved early childhood qualification must be employed at the locationof the kindergarten program.
- The teacher must plan the kindergarten program and deliver this program at the funded location.
- The kindergarten must offer each funded child a minimum of 600 hours of kindergarten annually.
- The kindergarten must provide written confirmation to parents that their child is receiving a fundedkindergarten program at the funded location.
- The organisation or kindergarten committee of management must sign and comply with a funding andservice agreement.
- The organisation or kindergarten committee of management must have an Australian BusinessNumber (provided through the Australian Taxation Office).

Kindergarten Enrolment Policy
Principle
RRCC pre school is an integrated Long Day Care (LDC) / pre school arrangement.
Our formal preschool program runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm for 46 weeks of the year, with a variety of learning programs and fun free-time activities available from 6.30am to 9.00am and after 4.30pmuntil home time
A formal kindergarten enrolment will require a minimum of 2 days in care.
2013 Kindergarten dates: Monday 28th January – Friday 13th December 2013
Guidelines
- Children who will have their fourth birthday by 30 April in the year of attendance at a state funded kindergarten are eligible for enrolment.
- Applications for the initial allocation of places close on Friday 28th September 2012.
- The formal kindergarten program will operate in accordance with the Victorian School year.
- DELAYED ENTRY TO SCHOOL – If applicable approval must be provided to RRCC for sighting
