NOTE: Your tutor will grade these documents after you give your oral presentation. Be sure to proofread your documents to avoid losing marks for expression errors. In-text citations (in the outline) and the list of references will be graded on accuracy of entries according to APA Documentation Style and relevance to the theme/topic. Write on one side of the paper only in black ink (and leave large margins or use double spacing) to facilitate editing in blue ink.
Your tutor MUST sign & date your first draft, as well as your REVISED proposal, essay outline and annotated list of references. / Revise and edit the first draft of your Research Essay, using a different colour ink. (If you need to re-write whole sections of your draft or include lengthy additional information, do so ONLY in your tutor’spresence.)

/ Using the “Peer Critique Checklist” as your guide, participate in the IN-CLASS peer critiquing session by allowing at least TWO of your peers to read and discuss your essay.
Afterwards, ONE of your peers will WRITE a critique of your essay 1stdraft. Attach the critique to your essay 1st draft for your tutor to read, discuss and grade it (using the Peer Critique Rubric you provide) during class or consultation session. (5%)
If necessary, make revisions on the blank pages of your booklet IN CLASS. Your tutor must approve, sign, and date revisions.
Discuss the format of the Foun1001/FD10A finalexamination. / Continue revising your research essay 1st draft based on feedback from your peers and tutor.
Review Critical Thinking Activity J (i and ii) on the OurVLE course website and make final preparations for the graded group presentations.

Nov. 30– Dec. 4 / Final Exam: Reflective Essay and Final Draft of the Research Essay / Make sure to attend YOUR regular FOUN1001/FD10A seminar this week!
IN thisCLASS you will:
  1. Submit your Reflective Essay (20%);
  2. Handwrite the FINAL draft of your research essay (using your revised essay first draft to assist you); AND
  3. Submit the final draft of your research essay (30%). Attach your revised TYPED annotated list of references, first draft, proposal, outline and peer comments.
/ To pass Foun1001, students MUST receive at least a total of 40/100 when coursework and final exam marks are added.
Please note that exam scripts will automatically receive a failing grade if they reflect uncertainty about the task and audience; deficiency in content, organization or style; poor grammar and mechanics or incorrect documentation (in-text and on the references list). See the essay rubric.
On Monday, November 30, before you write your essay final draft, view your coursework grades which will be posted on the notice board outside Room 102.
