(Please note: Exhibitors in the Youth show may show animals with the judge’s herdname. Exhibitors in the open shows may not show does or bucks with the judge’s herdname.)
Start Times: Youth Show will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 with Showmanship, Wethers, Does, and Bucks. Open Shows will begin at 8:00 AM both days with Showmanship, Wethers, Does, and Bucks.
Entry Fees: $8.00 per goat, no charge for Showmanship. All fees are non-refundable and must accompany the entry form. Base date for computing each animal’s age is the date of the show (June 24, 25, 26, 2016).
PLEASE NOTE NCPGC HEALTH PROCEDURES:
Health certificates are required in accordance with the North Carolina Dept. of Agriculture.
The health certificate will be checked & must be presented at the time of UNLOADING.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: An official from the NC Dept. of Agriculture may be on hand to check the animals.
BE PREPARED TO SHOW THAT OFFICIAL YOUR HEALTH CERTIFICATE AT ANY TIME.
Show Book: Entries received by May 31, 2016 will be included in the showbook. Ads and sponsorships are greatly appreciated. Separate forms for Ads and Class Sponsorships can be found on the Convention website at http://www.angelfire.com/nc/ncpgc/Convention2016.
Arrival & Departure Times: Arrival time is after 8:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2016. If you will be arriving before Friday please note this on your entry form. Departure time is after the conclusion of the show or Judge’s Exam. Goats may stay until Wednesday morning June 29, 2016 at 10 AM.
Check-In: Check-in will be conducted Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM and from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturday or Sunday.
Awards: Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through 5th places. Champion Rosettes will be awarded to Best & Reserve Best Wethers and to NPGA Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Does and Bucks. Special trophies presented to Premier Showman and breed champions.
Show Rules: NPGA rules will govern. You must have original NPGA registration certificates for all animals except wethers. Don't forget to tattoo or microchip your NPGA animals. Grand Champion animals and Best Wether must be identified as such to record the win with the NPGA. However, tattooing or microchipping is not allowed after a goat has been shown in its age class.
Pens: Pens at $8.00 each. There will be separate Buck and Doe/Wether areas. Bring baby netting and tarps as needed. Pen size is 4 feet by 6 feet. Only the number requested will be set up. Shavings are provided one time. Some shavings may be available for sale at $7.00 per bag.
Auctions: A silent auction and a live auction will be held. Please bring items to help support the show and club. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Donors to the Live Auction will be listed on the Convention website and are entitled to a FREE business card ad in the Showbook!Contact Maggie Leman at or 919-596-0984 if you wish to donate an item for the Live Auction. Donations will also be accepted at Convention, but donate early to get some free promotion for your farm or business!
