To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (S.1290) to name the U.S. Highway 52 viaduct in Berkeley County the "Clarence 'Mac' McGee" viaduct in honor of the life, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO NAME THE U.S. HIGHWAY 52 VIADUCT IN BERKELEY COUNTY THE "CLARENCE 'MAC' MCGEE" VIADUCT IN HONOR OF THE LIFE AND SERVICE OF CLARENCE MCGEE.

Whereas, Clarence "Mac" McGee, is an esteemed citizen of the State of South Carolina and resident of Berkeley County; and

Whereas, Clarence McGee served in the U.S. military for over twenty years, including tours in Vietnam and Korea; and

Whereas, Clarence McGee was a member of The American Legion for over twenty years, serving as Department Commander as well as on the National Legislative Committee; and

Whereas, he served as the Berkley County Veterans Affairs Officer for many years; and

Whereas, it would be fitting and proper for the viaduct at U.S. Highway 52 in Berkeley County to bear the name of the respected Clarence "Mac" McGee. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation name the viaduct at U.S. Highway 52, that crosses the cross-town line near the town of Bonneau, the "Clarence 'Mac' McGee Viaduct."

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
