U-10 and U12 SOCCERFEST Information

To promote camaraderie and goodwill amongst our Areas, Regions and Visiting Teams in AYSO Section Seven at the 2017 Rainbow Tournament, all participating U-10 and U-12 RBT players* are invited to participate in Soccerfest activities on Thursday, June 29, 2017a one-day, two-game activity consisting of players randomly combined and scheduled to play two short "friendlies" alongside temporary teammates, with an opportunity to sit down and talk story in between games.

To prepare our U-10 and U12 referees for official RBT matches starting Friday, newly certified Basic (Regional) Referees are strongly encouraged to participate, and will be mentored during Soccerfest games.

Each participating U-10 and U-12 RBT Coach will be given a blank game card and a team of random players to coach and be responsible for:

● Promoting player introductions, greetings. (Coaches should list players on game cards)

● Determining starting lineup, player positions and substitutions

● Provide encouragement and promote teamwork during his or her brief tenure over the team.

(Regions are asked to provide each of their coaches with a set of pinnies).

First Games U10

U10 Girls 11:15am Games start at 12:00pm

U10 Boys 12:15pm Games start at 1:00pm

Second Games U10

U10 Girls 1:15pm Games start at 2:00pm

U10 Boys 2:15pm Games start at 3:00pm

First Games U12

U12 Girls – 3:15pm Games start at 4:00pm

U12 Boys – 4:15pm Games start at 5:00pm

● Full AYSO region-issued player uniforms required, including shinguards. See RBT Rules and Regulations for player uniform requirements

● Referees will also be checked for uniform compliance. See RBT Referee Plan for referee uniform requirements

● There will be 7 to 10 players per team roster, with 7 players on the field (5 minimum), including a goalkeeper

● Games will be 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime

● Substitutions will be during stoppages in play, throw-ins, goal kicks, corner kicks, for injuries and following goals

● Referees will be one or three-person crews

● Scores and standings will not be kept.

* Soccerfest organizers will accommodate late-arriving players, siblings and friends of participating KBT players, provided these non-KBT players:

● are a currently registered U-10 AYSO player in MY16

● provide a current parent/guardian-"wet" signed Player Registration and Medical Release Form

Note: Official tournament games will begin on Friday, June 30th, continuing through Sunday, with semi-finals and finals on Sunday July 2nd.
