MGA Tournament Rules

Rules governing all MGA Tournaments:

  1. Rules governing play shall be USGA golf rules for all events.
  1. Local rules shall apply to each course played. Currently the following local rules exist:

a. Whenever the course shall be declared too wet for carts, rounds shall be played with pick clean and place in your own fairway as the rule. Your own fairway is the fairway for the hole you are currently playing.

b. On Harbour # 8 the shrubs below the tree in front of the right fairway bunker are played as ground under repair. Thus, if your ball lands in these shrubs, do not attempt to retrieve your ball. You may drop outside the shrubs with no penalty and no nearer the hole.

c. On all holes if your ball comes to rest in a lateral sunken drainage line area in your own fairway that area shall be treated as ground under repair and you may drop within one club length of your nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.

  1. All rules shall be interpreted by one or more of the Club’s PGA of America Class A Professionals, and their interpretation(s) shall be final.
  1. Ties will be broken using the USGA recommended system of back 9, back 6, back 3 score. If a tie still exists, handicap per hole will be used starting with the #1 handicap hole.
