ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

NHS Seniors

I. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Student must be graduating in 2015 and have been involved in school and community activities

during high school. Preference will be given to students who are in INTERACT.

2. Student must have had a grade point average of C+ or better in all classes throughout high

school.

3. Student must have definite plans to attend the college of his/her choice.

4. Student MUST HAVE met the preliminary test requirements for entrance into a post-secondary

school.

II. PROCEDURE FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:

  1. Students may obtain a scholarship application fromNokomis High Schoolwebsite or counselor.
  2. A transcript (obtain from NHS record's Department) showing up-to-date credits earned and other information should be submitted with the application.
  3. All questions on the application must be completed.
  4. Mail application to JoAnn Keeleat 315 S. Vine St, Nokomis, IL 62075 by April 10, 2015.

III. SELECTIONPROCEDURE:

1. A committee of 3- 4 Rotarians will independently review the applications and will then, together, selectfinalists.

2. These finalists will be interviewed by the Rotary Scholarship Committee and winners will be chosen.

3. All Applicants will be notified by mail regarding their status and the announcement of the scholarship recipients will be made at the High School Awards Ceremony in May.

4. Scholarship money will be made payable directly to the student upon verification of successful completion of their first semester of post-secondary education. Grades must be received by Rotary within 14 days of student receiving grades. Students should send a copy of their grades to JoAnn Keele at 315 S. Vine St., Nokomis, IL 62075.
