Merry Christmas Everyone!

The holiday season is a wonderful time for us to remember our TOPS friends and family who help us along our weight loss journey. The care and support in itself is truly the ultimate gift. So, I’d like to take this moment to say “Thank You” and send my best wishes to you and your families. May your new year be filled with all the success and happiness you deserve.

Sometimes when all the holiday festivities are going on, we feel so pressed for time that maybe we don’t take care of ourselves as well as we should. That’s why it is so important to plan this month. Stay on track! Do something for yourself! Start a family holiday fitness tradition! Take some time just to count your blessings and appreciate the special people in your life, including your TOPS friends. Make this a happy, healthy holiday for yourself. Remember…Santa is watching…he knows when you’ve been eating…he knows when you have baked…he knows when you’ve been good or bad…so be good for goodness sake!

De-stress with this great recipe!

Hot Mulled Cider (Serves 8)

4 cups apple cider 4 cups water

1 lemon, thinly sliced 12 whole cloves

2 cinnamon sticks, broken in half 4 tea bags (Earl Gray tea is delicious in this)

Combine Cider and water in medium sized saucepan. Stud lemon slices with cloves. Add to pot along with cinnamon stick pieces. Bring to a boil, then simmer gently for 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Add teabags. Steep for 3 minutes. Ladle into heatproof cups. (Watch out for loose cloves). If desired, garnish with a cinnamon stick stirrer.
