ACONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. SHERRY A. WALTERS OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, TO CONGRATULATE HER UPON THE OCCASION OF BEING NAMED THE 2010 HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO COMMEND HER FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Dr. Sherry A. Walters, assistant principal of Lexington High School, has been named the 2010 High School Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators; and

Whereas, Dr. Walters’ established model of excellence has encouraged the faculty and staff at Lexington High School to grow professionally, and her ability to communicate effectively enables her to excel in championing the needs of all her students; and

Whereas, unsurprised that this fine award has rested on the deserving shoulders of Sherry Walters, the students of Lexington High School and their parents, as well as her colleagues, friends, and family members, appreciate the outstanding contributions she has made in the field of education, which have benefitted countless students in South Carolina; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to pause in their deliberations so that they may express their profound appreciation to one of the state’s finest educators and congratulate Dr. Sherry Walters for the pride and distinction she has brought to her school and her community on being named the 2010 High School Assistant Principal of the Year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Sherry A. Walters of Lexington County, congratulate her upon the occasion of being named the 2010 High School Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of South Carolina, and commend her for her dedicated service to education in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented toDr. Sherry A. Walters.
