2006 – present VOCAL PRODUCTION INSTRUCTOR
Comprehensive technique covers basic physiology and pedagogy of the voice, developments in relaxation and alignment, breathing and support, phonation, registration, monitoring resonance, exploration of the singing sound and its relationship to the speaking voice, working with the text, stressed and weak forms, use of pitch, operatives, meter and structure, rhythm and tempo, phrasing, neutral American pronunciation, monologue and singing work involving synthesis of the vocal work to the specific tasks and requirements of character.
2009-present VOCAL TECHNIQUE & ACTING THE SONG (SUMMER INTENSIVE IN MUSICAL THEATER)
Emphasis is placed on integrating a healthy technique and a reflexive body/instrument to create a
truthful, dynamic and in-the-moment performance. Casting professionals (Michael Cassara,
Mark Simon) provided students with feedback at the culmination of the program, in addition to a
full showcase of the work.
