A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND THE REVEREND ANTHONY A. MCCALLUM, PASTOR OF BETHLEHEM BAPTIST CHURCH IN COLUMBIA, FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP OF BETHLEHEM BAPTIST ON THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BECOMING PASTOR AND FOR HIS WONDERFUL CONTRIBUTIONS TO OTHER MINISTRIES AND ENDEAVORS IN THIS STATE.
Whereas, the Reverend Anthony A. McCallum is the pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Columbia which is celebrating the second anniversary of his becoming pastor; and
Whereas, Reverend McCallum is a native of Maxton, North Carolina, holds Bachelor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees, and is a candidate for a doctoral degree; and
Whereas, in addition to his pastoral duties, he also serves as chaplain for various hospitals in the Columbia area; and
Whereas, under his leadership Bethlehem Baptist Church has become a great church not because of its size, but because of its spirit and willingness to do God’s will; and
Whereas, this wonderful man of God also serves in many varied capacities including the Greater United Ministries Board of Directors, Lander University Board of Visitors, Faith Home Ministry Board of Directors, Chairperson of the Racial and Ethical Commission, Chairperson of the Family and Spiritual Life of the Annual Wellness Celebration, and Board of Commissioners for the School for the Deaf and the Blind; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to recognize Reverend McCallum for his leadership of Bethlehem Baptist Church and for his other work in the community of faith. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend the Reverend Anthony A. McCallum, Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Columbia, for his outstanding leadership of Bethlehem Baptist on the second anniversary of his becoming pastor and for his wonderful contributions to various ministries in this State.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend Anthony A. McCallum.
