1) When you start Photostory for the first time, click the Begin a new story bubble, then click Next

When you create a new Photo Story, the first thing that you will do is import pictures. You can import most image formats, including .bmp, .dib, .eps, .gif, .jhif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .pcd, .pcx, .png, .psd, .rle, .tga, and .tif. For each story, you can import up to a couple hundred pictures.

2) On the Import and arrange your pictures page, click Import Pictures.

In the File Browser box, do one of the following:

  • Click the folder in which your pictures are located. Select one or more pictures, and then click OK.

3)Arrange your photos. After clicking on the thumbnail of each photo (Photostory will highlight the photo you have selected), you can drag and drop the photos to rearrange them on your storyboard.

4) Edit your photos (This step is optional, but it is recommended)

a. Remove black borders

On the Import and arrange your pictures page, click the Remove black borders… link on the right-hand side. A pop-up will appear. On the left picture, you can drag and re-size your box to help remove the black borders. The image on the right will be the replacement image if you choose to remove the border. Continue this process with all of your photos. If there is no black border on your photo (this will usually happen with larger images), Photostory will not allow you to remove borders.

b. Simple Editing Tools

Beneath each photo, you will see a series of buttons. Auto-Color and Red Eye require you to only press the button, and Photostory will adjust the photo. If you do not like the change, simply press the button again. The Arrow buttons allow you to change the orientation of the photo. Under the Edit… button, you can Crop your photo, or add a variety of effects.

5) Add a title to your photos

6) Add music

Click Select Music… if you have an audio file, or Create Music… if you want to use Photostory’s music creator.

7) Save your Photostory

a. If you haven’t done so yet, click on Save Project… to save your Photostory so you can edit it later

b. Click on Save your story for playback on your computer, then click Browse… to choose a location to save your file. Click Next > This will create your video file, and let you view your completed Photostory
