Dress Code 2016 – 2017
ACCEPTABLE / UNACCEPTABLEJeans/Pants/Shorts/Skirts:
· Worn at the waist
· No more than a dollar bill’s WIDTH above the knee
· Leggings, jeggings, tights and yoga pants with appropriate clothing over them. (ie. Dress, shirts, shorts, skirt, tunics must be a dollar bill width above the knee.) / Jeans/Pants/Shorts/Skirts:
· Exposed skin no more than a dollar bill’s width above the knee
· Exposed under garments
· Sagging pants
· Leggings, jeggings, tights and yoga pants without dress code appropriate short, skirt, or dress
· Bicycle shorts
Shirts:
· With sleeves
· With appropriate necklines, such as a
t-shirt or collared shirt
· Covering the midriff (even when raising arms)
· Sweatshirts, sweaters, or athletic jerseys worn over an appropriate shirt
· See through/mesh/lace tops must have dress code appropriate shirt underneath / Shirts with references to or pictures of:
· Tobacco, alcohol, or drugs
· Sex, obscenities, vulgarities
· Ethnic or racially offensive material
· Cult or gang symbols
Shirts:
· See-through or mesh tops
· Low cut tops (including camisoles, tank tops, and halter tops)
/ Jewelry/Accessories:
· Jewelry with spikes
· Hats, hoods, bandannas, sunglasses, wallet chains, or fish hooks
These items to be left in your locker all day:
· Coats and full zip jackets
· Backpacks (including drawstring backpacks)
· Book bags
· Purses or handbags larger than a sheet of notebook paper
· Makeup, hair brushes, combs, nail polish, perfume, and mirrors
Consequences:
1st Offense: Warning – Student will be instructed to change clothes.
2nd Offense: 1 Lunch Detention – Student will be instructed to change clothes. Parents contacted.
3rd Offense: 2 Lunch Detentions – Student will be instructed to change clothes. Parents contacted.
4th Offense: 1 Friday Night Detention – Student will be instructed to change clothes. Parents contacted.
5th Offense: 1-2 days of ISAP. Student will be instructed to change clothes. Parents contacted.
