FIMMDA-PDAI Annual Conference in Prague from August 15-18, 2015:
Important information for delegates
It is now only few days to go before you embark on your flight to Prague. Our event managers are takingall possible steps to make your stay at Prague comfortable and the event a grand success.
In addition to the Delegate letter that was mailed to you and another update kept as a part of the Conference book-let, we would like to keep you informed of the following:
Travel Related:
- Air tickets for Package I have been mailed to the participants by M/s KUONI. If in case you have not received the same, please contact Ms. Ranjeetha Nair at ph. 9820329579.
- All the visa applications received by our event managers, M/s Kuoni Travels Limited , have been submitted well in time to the Czech Embassy. As the Embassy has to process and issue around 290 numbers of the travel permits for this conference alone, they are releasing the passports and travel permits in batches.Documents as and when received by Kuoni are being couriered to the respective delegates, and the ones received till August 12, 2015 will be delivered to the holders on or before August 14, 2015.
- For visas received after August 12, 2015, it may not be advisable to put them into further transit mode. It has accordingly, been decided that visas received after August 12 will be handed over to the respective delegates at the entrance of the respective departure gatesof the ChatrapatiShivajiInternational Airport, Mumbai, on August 14, 2015,about four hoursbefore the Scheduled DepartureTime (SDT) (instead of the mandatory 3-hour ruleas applicable for international flights).Following Kuoni and FIMMDA officials will be present at the airport to assist you in this regard:

All such delegates are requested to carry their corporate Identity badges for this purpose.
- All delegates under Package–1 will be handed over conference badges at Mumbai airport by the concerned Kuoni official/s, in charge of theirrespective flights. Please wear them before coming out of the exit gates of the airport at Prague. This is required for identification of delegates for hotel transfers by coaches.
- Package-II delegates will be handed over the conference badges at the check-in counter at the hotel.
Baggage& Security
- Airlines-wise permissible baggage allowances are as under( as per information provided to us):

- It may please be ensured that your baggage is labeled with your name and address both inside and outside. Please ensure to keep the passport and air ticket in the hand bag.
- We strongly recommend that you carry essential clothing and toiletries. This will be helpful in case of delayed/missed baggage
Communication channels: New SIM cards are available in the Airport at Prague but the procedure adopted by them is cumbersome and takes time. So, it’s better to carry a suitable Matrix or other cards locally before you reach Praha.
Cabs at Airport: cabs are available to go to the hotel and they may cost you approximately Krona 600-700. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the Hotel.(Pls keep in mind the check-in time)
Check-in & Check-out
- Check-in time at Hotel Hilton is 15.00 hours on August 15 and check-out time on August 18, 2015, 2015 will be 12.00 noon. Exclusive Check in counters are set up in the Ground floor of the Hotel for FIMMDA delegates. Pls ask for them if you are in Package II and arriving direct to the Hotel. All other pax will get down from the Bus and walk about 100 meters to reach these counters at the Hotel. There are lifts from here to reach your floor. Pls carry baggage for yourself for safety and immediate transfer. There is a lunch arrangement between 1:30-3:30 PM on 15th August 2015. Pls coordinate the Lunch and check in formalities depending upon the time of your arrival.
Currency
- Euro and Dollarare accepted in the Czech Republic. However, some shops are reported to accept only the Krona (the local currency) and most shops give back change in Krona.
Since not many exchange houses are available in Prague, it is advisable to exchange the currency/ies in advance.
- It is not advisable to change money with people in the streets.
Do’s & don'ts in Prague:
- Please use the Bus service we have put in place for your travel. Please wear your badge, move in groups and follow the Kuoni team leader in each bus. They will take you safely to all places.
- Avoid thetaxi driverswaiting at ranks in obvious tourist locations. Hail a moving cab or call one of the services listed below. Make sure you are getting into an authorised taxi and the driver turns on the meter. It is safer to agree a fee before you get in the cab.
- Maincrime problemsare petty pilfering fromcars and pockets in tourist areas like Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge and the Castle.Remain careful when getting on or off a tram or a train in the metro. Keep your bag closed and avoid carrying your passport, wallet and valuables in your back pocket.
- If any delegate has any disability prior to departure, please keep Kuoni informed well in advance to enable them to take care of you. Pls get in touch with Mr. Sawe Prasad Mob No: +91 8097827001 well in advance..
- Always make sure that yourhotel room is lockedwhenever you leave. Always keep your hotel address and important phone numbers with you.
Weather
- At this time of the year weather in Prague usually remains pleasant. However, with rains the temperature often comes down sharply. Besides, during our trip to Koneprusy Caves on August 16, 2015 colder conditions could prevail. It will be advisable to carry woolen garments for your own protection.
