Use colored paper to cut out apples, pumpkins, peaches and strawberries and scatter them around the floor. Have kids search for them and put them in a basket when as the find them.
LITTLE APPLES
(Sung to the tune of "Ten Little Indians")
One little, two little, three little apples,
Four little, five little, six little apples,
Seven little, eight little, nine little apples,
Ten little apples fell to the ground.
Have the little one first count using their fingers and make a falling down motion with their hands, then have them stand up and jump as the numbers are called out and end with everyone falling down safely to the ground.
ROUND THE APPLE TREE
(Sung to the tune of “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)
Here we go round the apple tree,
The apple tree, the apple tree.

So early in the morning.
Verse 2: This is the way we plant the seeds.

Have little ones hold hands and go around in a circle, acting out each verse as it is sung.
APPLE TREE
Way up high in the apple tree (stretch arm up high)
Two little apples were looking at me (hold up 2 fingers)
I shook that tree as hard as I could (make a shaking motion)
Down came the apples, (make a downward motion)
and, Mmmm-- they good! (smile and rub stomach)

Five Little Apples
(Sung to the tune of "Five Little Monkeys")
Five little apples swinging in a tree
I sure wish one would fall to me
Well, one fell down
And it hit the ground,
Now how many apples do you see?
Have little ones stand in a line and make a swinging motion while holding hands. Each time an apple falls to the ground have one child pretend to fall to the ground. Repeat until all apples and children have fallen to the ground. You can alter to fit the amount of kids in storytime.

Before you begin, assign a gross motor skill to each vowel. For example, when you do the long “A” sound you are going to jump up and down, the long “I” sound you will make large circles with your arms.

Materials
●81/2 x 11 blue construction sheet of paper
●Green and red cut outs of apples (two for each child)
●Sand paper crescent moon cut outs
●Cinnamon sticks
●Glue sticks
●Crayons

●Glue apple cutouts to blue paper
●Glue sand paper crescent moons out to apple cut outs
●Have little ones rub a cinnamon stick on the sand paper to make them smell like yummy apple pie
●Add details with crayons

Print out or make pictures of each vegetable and hold them up for kids to say aloud what it is and then proceed to sing each verse. Make sure to ask the little ones what color the vegetable is, how many like the vegetable, and how each vegetable grows.

Pair little ones up and have them hold hands while going up and down, choose someone to become the vegetable and have them “stirred up” by their friends.

VEGETABLE COLOR MATCH UP
(Matching felt board game)
Cut out pairs of different vegetables needed to make vegetable soup. Invite the little ones to come up one at a time and help with finding the match. Have them put their matches in a soup bowl or pot and when everyone has gotten a chance to find a match, have them take a turn at stirring the soup.
Vegetable Soup Game
This will teach little ones memory skills.
●Set out a large cooking pot
●Print out or make examples of different vegetables
●Have little ones take turns putting the cut outs in the pot and asking the children details about it (what color it is, what does it taste like etc.)
●As the next child puts in their vegetable, see if they can remember what vegetable was put in right before or even if they can remember all of the vegetables.
●When everyone has had a turn, have everyone help out in stirring the pot.
