3 - ROLE PURPOSE:
Sustainability Consultant delivering high-end building performance simulation assessments.
4 - MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

FINANCIAL
Project Cost Control / Provide input for job costing, e.g. periodical time sheets, work to fee/hours targets, work percentage complete, forecast work required. / Project Profitability
Produce time plans for your project input in consultation with your Manager. / Project Profitability
Co-ordinate your commitments to meet project deadlines and cost requirements. / Client feedback / Project Profitability
Assist Accounts with the collections of unpaid fees. / Debtor Days
CUSTOMER
Marketing / Actively market NDY’s services through preparation of presentation material as required. / Number of new projects
BUSINESS PROCESS
Design Work / Design and documentation of systems through concept, design development and detailed documentation phases. / Quality of documentation
Assist the senior engineer and/or project coordinator on assigned projects – responsible for the firm’s overall involvement on the project and the administration of design interface between disciplines. Disciplines may include: Communications, Security, Lifts, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Hydraulics, NDY Light, ESD, Fire Engineering and Acoustics. / Peer / Project Director/ Project Coordinator and client Feedback
Review and update CUBE task list
Use and interpretation of analysis software, including understanding of inherent assumptions and consequential limitations. Applicable to dynamic thermal simulation, computational fluid dynamics and daylight analysis. / As noted
Construction Phase Work / Liaise with Contractors and Sub-Contractors to address construction related documentation issues. / Client Feedback
Review technical submissions by Contractors and Sub-Contractors against the specified requirements. / As noted
Attend site meetings as appropriate and report on the status of the work and any items of concern. / Attendance at meetings / Client feedback
Project Control / Manage Norman Disney & Young’s involvement in projects so that work is completed efficiently whilst meeting client needs. / Client & Project Coordinator Feedback

8- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Qualifications
· A relevant tertiary qualification combined with equivalent training and experience.
· Sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Code (NCC)
· Broad understanding of Project Stages and Delivery methods (e.g. full design, design and construct)
· EPC accreditation (UK), ASHRAE Building Energy Modelling Professional (BEMP) (USA), or equivalent, or demonstrable experience
· Green Star Accredited Professional (required)
· NABERS Accredited Assessor (beneficial)
Experience
· Between 2 – 4 years engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects.
· Between 2 – 4 years experience in mechanical services engineering design and/or building energy simulation
Skills
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients
· Well developed verbal communication skills
· Ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently to meet objectives
· Well-developed problem solving skills

· Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge of best practice in sustainable design, particularly with respect to the built environment
