Inthis course, teachers willlearnhowtocreateonlinecollaborativeenvironments and manageWebpages usinganewprogramcalledMicrosoftOffice SharePointServices. This programwillallowteachers atGarretson School Districttocreatetheirown personalWeb-basedlearningspaces,whichcanbeaccessedby studentsintheir

respectiveclassrooms.Teachers willbeabletoposttheirsyllabus,spelling lists, newsletters, teacher hours, createaclass calendar, posthomeworkassignments/documents,andcreateactivities thatpromotestudent collaborationandcommunication:blogs (Weblogs)andWikis (acollaborativeWebsite thatallows users toadd, remove,edit,content)..

Itisexpectedthatparticipantsinthiscourseattendallsessions. Graduatecreditwillonlybeissueduponcompletionoftheentirecourseandpublication ofa finalclassroom website toenhancestudentlearning. Thefollowingattendancepolicyisineffect:

•Attend 4- 4 hour sessions

•Complete all classroom activities

•Publish a classroom website with classroom information to not only inform parents of their classroom activities but also allow for interaction on the website with the students.

  • Set up a tie-in with Microsoft word and sharepoint site
  • Set up picture library and have a presentation running on their site.
  • Explain the difference between Sharepoint Designer 2010 and web-based sharepoint editing and creation.
