2. Discuss options with parents, teachers, and counselors. Attend parent/student information meetings –

5. Complete registration during SRB- February 9, 2009. (Please note that if registration sheets aren’t complete with full listing of classes, alternatives, and signatures, you will not be able to register.)
Remember –
- You must repeat any required classes that you have failed.
- Students at MHS do not fail grades, i.e., 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, etc, but they may delay receiving certain privileges such as open lunch, open hours, prom attendance, and graduation because of a lack of credits.
- Sophomore = 6 credits;Juniors= 12 credits; Senior = 18 credits
- You are responsible for monitoring your credits and required classes to ensure a timely graduation. If you have questions, please see a counselor
-You can’t enroll in English III until you have passed both semesters of English I.
- College Preparatory (CP) and Advanced Placement (AP) are more rigorous and have greater student expectations.
- Speech may now be taken in grades 9-12.
- English II/CP English II is now a full year and has absorbed the English Literature requirement. Other English classes will be offered on a rotating basis – see English section

1. Be a South Dakota resident at the time of graduation.
2. Have a composite ACT of 24 or greater
3. Complete a Regents Scholar curriculum* with no final grade below a C and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0
*Regents Scholar Curriculum – 4 units of English, 3 units of Social Studies, 4 units of Algebra or high mathematics, 4 units of Science including 3 units of approved lab science, ½ unit of Computer Science, 1 unit of Fine Arts, 2 consecutive units of World Language-for 2008 and 2009 Graduates. 2010 Graduates will need to meet Distinguished Track Criteria. Note: 1 unit = 1 year of instruction.
