General Information and Conditions of Entry

  • Zone Championships draw of riding order will be distributed by email and published on the CZ website.
  • At the State Championships a team manager is required. This will be a parent or nominee of the first selected rider or a person nominated by the Zone Secretary.
  • ‘C’ Certificates: Riders who have been at pony club for at least two years and who are aged over 14 years must have their ‘C’ certificate to ride at a state championship. Any rider who qualifies for the state championship at this zone qualifying competition and meets the ‘C’ certificate criteria, will only be entered into the state championship if obtainment of the ‘C’ certificate is recorded on their PCAV club member card when presented at this zone championship.

If the club member card does not show that the‘C’ certificate has been obtained, the next available rider with a ‘C’ certificate will be put ahead of any non-complying rider.

There will be no discussion on this matter, the club member card will be the only source considered. If it is not recorded on the card, the rider will not be entered at state level.

The PCAV Club Member Card may only show a 'C' certificate if printed by the PCAV office.

  • There is no limit on the number of riders that can be entered by a club. However, the organising committee reserves the right to refuse entries if entries exceed a manageable number.
  • Riders may ride two horses competitively in Dressage and/or Showjumping. A rider with two horses must state on the entry form the order in which they wish to ride and must abide by the order of the draw. Acceptance of two horses will depend on entries and is at the discretion of the organising committee. If a rider qualifies for State with two horses, either both in the same discipline (dressage or showjumping), or one in each discipline, the rider will be asked after the Zone qualifying event to nominate their first preference. Their second preference may or may not be offered a place in a zone team. This will also depend on whether PCAV rules about two horses remain the same.
  • Riders that qualify for state must have payment on the day of qualifier (this is 50% of the entry fee), and all the relevant info to complete paperwork. Reserve riders will be required to complete paperwork but no need to pay unless they ride at state. All relevant information can be found on the PCAV website. Central Zone will not be chasing riders for money or to complete paperwork.
  1. Pre-paid entry is required. No late entries accepted. No refunds after closing date except with Vet or Medical Certificate.
  2. Entering this event constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance that PCAV rules apply and the conditions of entry. PCAV rules may be found at

  4. PCAV club member cards are required to be presented to the secretary’s office at least 30 minutes before riding in the first dressage test or showjumping event.
  5. Horse Abuse rules apply in accordance with the PCAV Handbook of By-laws
