Education is one of the greatest investments in our future leaders. Gamma Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., is committed to making such an investment in the Youth of Westchester County. We offer one time Scholarship and Incentive Awards to graduating high school students who are entering a 4 year college as a full-time student in 2015.

In order to be considered for the Scholarship or an Incentive award, items 1-3 listed below must accompany your application.

YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION AND THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MUST BE SUBMITTED:

1.  Two letters of recommendation, one from a school counselor or administrator; the other from a community agency or house of worship.

2.  Your high school transcript in a sealed envelope, with a school official’s signature on the envelop seal.

3.  An original essay of 350 words double spaced (essay topics listed on application form).

ALL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 3, 2015 AND MAILED TO:

ESSAY TOPICS:

  1. How has your family history, culture, or environment influenced who you are today?
  2. You are about to embark on a lengthy road trip in a two passenger car without any communication devices. What person, real or fictional, would you choose to accompany you and why?
  3. What you do in the classroom defines only a part of who you are. How do you spend your time when you are not in class or studying? Focus on one activity (two at most) and discuss what you have gained from your involvement.
