March 8, 2008

Your new board is working to enhance the appearance of our neighborhood.

A first step in that direction – By the middle of March, the hodge-podge of often-ugly real estate “For Sale” and “For Rent” signs that now blight the Broad Street neighborhood will be replaced with standardized, high-quality, uniform signage, like that used for properties in many other Beaufort-area neighborhoods (including Battery Point, Royal Pines, and National Boulevard at Cat Island.

The signs are designed to be placed in the ground 3-6 feet from the sidewalk, between and parallel to the house being marketed and the road running in front of it.

THIS WILL BE THE ONLY REAL ESTATE SIGNAGE PERMITTED IN THE BROAD STREET NEIGHBORHOOD. Only one sign per house will be permitted at any time.

----- IF YOU ARE SELLING OR RENTING YOUR HOUSE THROUGH A REAL ESTATE AGENCY – You don’t need to do anything! Area real estate agents are being notified even as you read this!

-----IF YOU ARE SELLING OR RENTING YOUR HOME BY YOURSELF – Your sign will be purchased through your Broad Street Neighborhood Association (BSNA). Contact Laura Richardson, 816-2002, when it comes time for a sign. We will take your order, have the sign made, pick it up and deliver it to you, typically within 4-6 days

The signs will cost you $50.00. Those buying signs can a) pay at the time they place their order with Laura or, b) agree to have the cost of their signs added to their BSNA dues for the following year; or c) agree to pay BSNA the cost of the sign at sale closing.

(Options B and C are only available to those owners who are up-to-date in their payments of all BSNA dues and fees. Option C is not available for owners purchasing “For Rent” signs).

This is the first of a number of steps your new board is taking to enhance the appearance of our neighborhood. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

The Broad Street Board Neighborhood Association
