Your Child S Safety

YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY.

Despite numerous reminders, people are continuing to walk across the Car Park along with their children at the beginning and end of day. This is extremely dangerous, so once again, we ask that you use the pathways at all times.

Dogs (Unless Guide Dogs) are not allowed within the campus grounds for any reason in all Glasgow school sites. If you have a dog with you, please wait outside the school grounds to collect your child.

LENTEN CHARITY

We will be fund-raising for SCIAF as part of our Lenten Charity appeal. The Minnie Vinnies are also collecting for a local food bank, to benefit people in our local community. More details to follow.

The Parent Partnership are holding Spring Discos for the children on Tuesday March 28th. All children from P.1-7 must be collected by an adult at the end of each disco please. If you are able to help out, please speak to anyone from the Partnership or leave details in the school office.

PARENT’S MEETING FOR OUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE.

We have a great opportunity to develop some great learning opportunities for our children and families over the next few years. With this in mind, we would like to invite you to a meeting for all parents and carers on Wednesday 19th April at 6:15pm. This will be to share our intentions and take questions and ideas from yourselves.

STAFF TRAINING.

Our February In-service day had a real focus on Nurture, a Glasgow priority. The keynote speaker was the former Chief Medical Officer, Sir Harry Burns. He gave all the staff from our learning community a really good profile of Glasgow’s health and opportunities for children to develop, even though some children have disadvantages.

SPORT/HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.

P1-3 football is up and running and will be a four week block. The school competed really well at the Toryglen tournament. Last Friday, the school team had a very hard earned victory over Cleeves Primary, winning 3-1.

On the 15th March, there is a city wide Athletics event for P7 children. We will be taking 12 P7’s-6 boys/girls to the Emirates Arena, so good luck to those who are chosen!

The Street Dance Heats at Hillpark High School are on Thursday 16th March after school-further details to follow.
