Role Description

We are looking for young people to be more actively involved in the running of Just Drop-In. All of our volunteering roles are delivered ‘behind the scenes’, we do not have opportunities for people to work direct with our clients until they are aged at least 18.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

-To plan and assist with fundraising activities in the community

-To plan and organise campaigns and projects to highlight issues affecting young people

-To help represent and be a voice for young people at events or consultations

-To support with marketing and highlighting the work of JDI within the community

-To help with recruitment, induction and training of staff and volunteers

-Being involved gaining feedback about our service and celebrating any achievements

-Our roles are varied and we can be very flexible to ensure that young people have the volunteering experience they are looking for; young people can opt to just get involved with some of the responsibilities or all of them.

Volunteering commitment

You should be able to commit to at least 1 session a month. The hours which you volunteer can be flexible but will generally take place anytime between 10am-6pm Monday to Friday. There are occasionally opportunities to get involved with events at the weekend.

Who can apply?

-You don’t need any specific experience of qualifications but you must be aged 14-17.

-You should be enthusiastic and committed to working with the ethos and framework of Just Drop-In

-You should be able to maintain boundaries and respect the confidentiality of the Service.

-It is our policy to seek parental/guardian consent for all young people wanting to volunteer

In exchange for your time and enthusiasm we will aim to provide the following:

-Support in gaining qualifications and appropriate references

-Relevant training, opportunities to learn, and have fun

-Reimbursed expenses

-Opportunities to celebrate and be rewarded for your help.

-1-1 support with a named staff member at JDI – Ann Wright Manager
