You did such a great job helping Sam with his checkbook that now his sister Samantha what you to help her too. Just like Sam, Samantha does not have any of her receipts but has a story to go with each transaction. Because Samantha is older than Sam the bank has different fees and penalties for spending more money than she has in the bank. Complete her fifteen day transactions on a checkbook recorder.

August 1st – Started an account at U-Wish Bank with all her birthday money which came to $100.

August 2nd – She went shopping at the mall and had lunch there too. Spent $6.99 on her lunch and bought one item for 8.50 and 2 items for 13.50 each.

August 3rd – Went to the movies with friends, bought her own ticket for $7.00, a small drink for $5.00 and small popcorn for $5.50.

August 4th – Went to a water park with friends so she bought a group pass for $23.58. Then spent another $18.00 on food and drinks the rest of the day.

August 5th – Received an overdraft notice by e-mail from the bank. The bank charged her a fee of $8.50 and told her it will double each time she goes over her balance.

August 6th – She lined up a filing job that paid $6.75 an hour. She was able to work for 5 hours.

August 7th – Samantha did such a good job another office hired her to at a rate of $7.50 an hour and work there a total of 8 hours.

August 8th – After working for two days straight she treated herself and two friends to a movie and small frozen treat. One ticket was $7.00 and a small frozen treat was $5.75.

August 9th – The hottest new novel for the summer was 20% off the cover price so Samantha had to get it! It regularly cost $17.99. The author was there too so she was able to get the book autographed!

August 10th – Went to Six Flags with friends. Got a good deal on her ticket, she was able to get 20% off the regular $34.99 ticket price and then spent another $22.00 in Six Flags.

August 11th – Samantha received an overdraft notice by e-mail from the bank. The fee she had to pay was double the last overdraft fee of $8.50.

August 12th – She was able to get a job filing papers for an office at a rate of $5.75 an hour, but only work 4 hours. She was lucky enough to get a second job folding and labeling letters that paid $5.50 an hour and work 4 hours.

August 13th – Knowing she bank balance was low Samantha found a job that paid $6.25 an hour and worked 5 hours.

August 14th – After working two days in a row Samantha so needed a break and wanted to spend time with her friends so she invited some friends over for a movie and pizza. The movie she rented was $7.99. The pizza place she ordered from was having a deal, one topping medium pizza for $10.99, so she got 4 pizzas and then gave the pizza guy an $8.00 tip because he was really cute.

August 15th – Samantha received an overdraft notice by e-mail from the bank. The fee she had to pay was double the last overdraft fee of $17.00.
