When submitting your application you will need:

  • Four slides or photographs are required - 3 must be representative of the work you will be selling and 1 of your booth display. Jurying material will not be returned unless accompanied by a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope.
  • A $25.00 deposit must accompany your application, per show, and is non-refundable once you have been juried into a show.

Please read the Exhibitor Information and Terms & Agreements before filling out the application.

Being crafters ourselves, we feel that we know what to look for when planning the shows that we want to participate in, and that is advertising, timing, as well as location we feel are very important to a successful show. Therefore we have contacted several newspapers, radio stations, as well as billboard companies to advertise, we are also looking into some TV stations as well to provide you with the best possible buyer's environment. We have also looked at what is going on in the Community around the same time, so that there is the least amount of conflict of interest.

There are several benefits to becoming an exhibitor at a Stars and Stripes Craft Promoters show. Some of these benefits include:

  • Professional Show Management – We are making every effort possible to provide all the necessary ingredients to deliver a first-rate handcrafted show in the First State and effectively market the event and it's exhibitors to the public.
  • Juried Events - Events consist of artists and crafts people from across the country featuring both traditional and contemporary work. The jury process is first-come, first-served with quality and uniqueness of work and booth design always getting priority. We also do not believe of having several crafters doing the same work. We are trying to give the community a diverse selection of hand made items. To constantly upgrade the quality of our events, exhibitors' work and booths are juried before and during each show. Jurying and placements of space assignments are made according to space availability and category.
  • High Attendance & High Sales –We will try our best to get the consumers there, but it is still your job to present your products in the most professional manner so that the consumer will buy.
  • Extensive, Highly Visible Advertising - Our multi-media advertising campaign includes highly rated radio stations and regional major newspapers. Press releases are sent to all major news media throughout Delaware; Calendar of Events Listings is mailed to tourist publications. Exhibitors are encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunity to distribute postcards and flyers, which have proven to be powerful marketing tools that build attendance and individual sales.
  • Easy Payment Plans - Booth fees can be paid by cash, check, or money orders. If installment plans are needed we will be happy to work with you.
  • Miscellaneous Services & Benefits - Experienced, friendly staff to assist you before, during and after the show; no regional or "exclusive" show restrictions; 24 hour security provided by the Corporate Center.

Some of the questions that we have been asked regarding the shows have been.

What type of building will the craft shows be in? The Corporate Center use to be a shopping mall which now some of the stores have been converted into offices. However, that is why we feel that a Friday evening show would also do well because when they get off of work they will already be at the show.

How are we going to advertise? We are planning to advertise in local Calendar of Events, as well as statewide newspapers, and magazines. We are planning to put up flyers though out the state and nearby points of interest. Last February we contacted two radio stations that ran ads for two weeks, and we had two live remotes at the show on Saturday. We have contacted the local TV stations as well as bill boards however they are too expensive at this time. We also invite all the crafters who plan to participate to include it on their calendar of shows that they may hand out to their customers.
Why did you choose those dates? Those dates were chosen because not a lot of things were going on in the area at that time. Unfortunately, last February we had some unexpected weather, however, that did not stop some people from coming to the show, and spending.
Will there be a lot of buy/sell? We are really trying to minimize the buy/sell. That is one of the reasons why we have gathered business cards, they are a way of pre-jury the show. When the applications are returned to us we are asking that everyone please enclose a detailed description of their craft as well as pictures so that we can also have a formal jury of the show. We are trying to hold it to its name as a true craft show. Anyone selling buy/sell items may be asked to not sell those items, and/or may be asked to leave the show and will forfeit any moneys paid.
Is there a theme to the show? No, not this year, however, that may be a good idea for up coming years.
Will there be security? Yes, please read the application for more details.
Where can I stay while I am there? A list of hotels is part of the application. Please see the application for more details. There are plenty of restaurants here in Dover as well.
