You are Extraordinary!

Craft for Moonbeams

I praise you God, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139: 14

Supplies needed for craft:

-Air Hardening Modeling Clay

-Poster Paint (Variety of colors)

-Clear Varnish

Craft:

Give each child a large piece of clay and tell them to create something that’s their favorite. Animal, nature, family member will even work. Allow them to work, praising them for their creativity. Once the children have finished the sculpting process, they can begin to paint their sculptures. After the paint has dried, have an assistant help apply the varnish.

Devotional Thought:

God has created each one of us here in this room, just like you took the time to create something special today. God thought carefully about how He made you. He wants you to know how special you are, each and everyone of you. He wants you to be different and have your own special gifts and be able to shine in your very own way. Just like your artwork, you each made something different, something special that means a lot to you. You painted it exactly how you wanted, choosing each color for a reason and you are proud of your work! You have to hold it carefully so you don’t break it and want to make sure to put it somewhere for everyone to see! Especially your family!

Have you ever had someone make fun of your artwork? Maybe even made fun of someone else’s artwork? How did it make you feel? How did it make your friends feel? In Psalm 139:14, it says, “I praise you God for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” God took time to make us just the way He wanted us to be. He knew that we would not be perfect and we would all have features and characteristics that make us different but that is how He wanted us to be. He finds each of you very special, He made you carefully even to placing each little hair on your head. He gave you the beautiful eyes you have even your cute little nose! We all have something special about us.

God also wants you to know that He did all of the work He did for you, because he loves you. He loves you so much! He is proud of his work… which is YOU! He wants you to know how special you and treat others the same way He treats you!

So as you take home your special made creations today, think about how proud you are of yourself and how proud you are of you creation and know that God feels that way about you… even more so! He loves you more than you can ever imagine!
