PreviouspositionsheldbyBenincludeseventeenyearsintheelectricalindustryasajourneymanelectrician,foreman,andgeneralforemanoncommercialandindustrialprojects,rangingfromschools,towatertreatmentplants,tomulti-storycommercialstreetlightingprojects.Healsospentfouryearsasahighvoltagecablesplicerbeforeopeninghisownhardwarestorefiveyearsago.Inadditiontohistechnicalexperience,hehasbeenaninstructorinanelectricalapprenticeshipprogramforseveralyears,teachingthreeofthefouryearsofthenationallystandardizedcurriculum.
