Year 6 Homework Grid

Choose one digital learning and one other piece of homework per week to complete. Record your work in your Home Learning book. Over the term you must do 2 numeracy,2 literacy and 2 other pieces from the grid,plus all 6 digital learning pieces.

Remember we have homework club and the ICT suite is open at lunchtime to help support you with homework.

Write a short biography of a scientist involved in electricity. Try Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Robert Van de Graaf or one of your own.

Write some notes on your favourite author and give a 2 minute talk to the class about them.
What was their childhood like? Why did they decide to write books? What is your favourite book by them? Who would you recommend their books to? / Literacy to brush up on your Grammar skills! There are lots of different weekly activities which you could try:

Write a simple sentence then up level using as many skills as you can. Add adjectives, adverbs and interesting punctuation. Add extra clauses, subordinate clauses, use the passive voice. Use an interesting opener – start with a verb (ing) or an adverb (ly). Aim to produce 8 different sentences from your original sentence. / Great leaders
Choose a great leader from history and write a fact file about them. Try to present your work in an imaginative way.
Don’t forget to give your opinion of them – why did you choose them and what makes them a great leader? / Recycled art.
Create a piece of artwork using only recycled materials

We will collect in your homework book every Thursday. Your first two pieces of homework are due in next Thursday, 15thJanuary.
