Denver Family Therapy Center is looking to fill the position of Coordinator for the Youth Drug Alcohol Prevention program (Y-DAP).

YDAP Coordinator Job Description

The Youth Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program Coordinator is the liaison between clients (juveniles who receive tickets and their parents), the courts (clerks and judges), Jefferson County Schools Project (JSP) case managers, and YDAP (therapists and interns). The majority of your work will involve either explaining the YDAP program, sharing the status of the clients to different groups, scheduling clients, or maintaining databases so you can create a quarterly report that describes the status of the YDAP program to a board composed of judges.

Responsibilities

Retrieving telephone calls off of the YDAP voicemail and returning phone calls to clients, courts and Jefferson County Schools’ case managers (roughly 100 calls per week).

  • Initial phone calls consist of explaining the YDAP program to clients, checking eligibility, and scheduling clients for an intake appointment.
  • Returning client phone calls consist of rescheduling clients, troubleshooting problems and explaining what part of the YDAP process the client needs to do next.
  • Phone calls from the courts or JSP case managers usually involve either the status of the client or troubleshooting problems.

Send email updates to courts once a week (can be daily) involving looking through files and spreadsheets to find the information for the updates.

  • This also involves maintaining the database of referrals (yellow sheets) from Jefferson County Combined Courts.

Enter and maintain the database for the Jefferson County Minor in Possession Tickets.

  • This involves entering tickets received from the courts (roughly 40 per week at the busiest part of the year) and discharge information from client files into Microsoft Access and Excel.

Troubleshoot problems and help clients, courts and JSP with information about the way that the program works and what exceptions can be made.

Discharge client files (on average 20 clients per week) by reviewing the files for complete information (and researching missing information to complete the file), entering the information into the spreadsheet, and faxing information about the completion to the courts once a week.

Work with the SB215 Coordinator to receive funding in the form of vouchers for our low income clients from SB215 (marijuana tax money).

Sending letters to clients who have not attended YDAP and are eligible.

Writing letters for clients to take to court to request a continuance.

Printing and assembling new client intake packets.

Meeting once a week with the YDAP director, therapists, and interns to troubleshoot problems and to give a status update on the program.

Review client files that have completed the intake, add information if necessary and file in the correct location.

  • This can involve going through the filing cabinet once a week to ensure that all of the files have the correct information and are in the correct location.
  • It also involves filing completed/entered client payment sheets once a week.

Liaison with the YDAP Spanish speaking therapist (the Spanish portion of the program is a separate mini-program) and the Adolescent Substance Abuse Program (ASAP).

Create class rosters, collect client files for classes, and print certificates for future classes.

  • This can involve verifying that the students on the schedule are the actual clients that will be attending class.

Create a report which is presented quarterly to the YDAP board members.

  • This involves using Pivot Tables to retrieve the information from the master spreadsheet and create tables showing the breakdown of each municipality, age, gender, substance, etc.
