Pre-Season Meeting

II. TRYOUTS

1)Tryouts begin Friday March 4th

2) Players will meet in O’Brien hall in the softball locker room on Friday March 4th.

Friday March 4th2:30-6:00

Saturday March 5th 11:00-2:30

Monday March 7th 230-5:30

Tuesday March 8th230-5:30

3) ALWAYS be prepared for inside/outside practices (NO SHORTS) Clothing: sweatshirts, sweatpants, cleats, sneakers, gloves, bats, etc…

WHITE T-SHIRT REQUIRED (large enough to wear over sweatshirts) write your assigned number on the front and back of the shirt in the color assigned to you. Thelist of numbers and colors will be posted on the softball web pageby Tuesday March 1st.

4) Tryouts will be every dayuntil cuts are made. Players are expected to be at try-outs every day! Any absencesduring try-outs, not related to a school function, will have a direct impact on our decision to keep a player.

III. REQUIRED FORMS (all forms are now online-go to softball web page)

EVERYONE must complete anAthletic ParticipationPermission Form.Return completed form to the AD office by February 1st.

EVERYONE must have an updated Physical Evaluation Form completed and returned to the AD office by February 1st.

1)Physicals must be performed by your family doctor using the form provided on the softball web page. Return completedforms to the athletic office for approval from our school nurse and schooldoctor. Make your doctors’ appointment ASAP as it takes a long time to complete the paperwork process.

2)Any player that does not have their paperwork approved by the athletic office byMarch 4thWILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRYOUT. NO EXCEPTIONS!

3)Any questionsregarding paperwork should be directed to the athletic office.

IV. REQUIRED NOTES:

Players are required to submit a note containing any extended absences or obligations they may have during the season to Coach Burkhart. Do not include school dances or proms! Please submit these notes by the end of the first day of try-outs. Season dates: March 4th- June 6th

V. PREPARATION FOR SEASON:

All players are responsible for being physically and mentally preparedfor the season.

Captain Practices: Washington Lake Park-Softball Barn. Practices begin in January. Dates will be posted on the softball web page. Players should attend as many practices as possible to prepare for the season, attendance will be taken.

Total Turf practices: Captains will arrange practices at total turf.

The coaching staff is very excited about the upcoming season and we hope that you will share in our enthusiasm. Thank you for showing an interest in our softball program. We are looking forward to seeing you on Friday March 4th!!!
