Adler & Gibb
Written and directed by Tim Crouch
Co-Directed by Andy Smith and Karl James
Call for Child Performers
Adler & Gibb is a play by the award–winning playwright Tim Crouch. It opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2014. This summer it is being re-mounted as a touring production and opening at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Adler & Gibb is about ideas of representation. It tells a story of two young people breaking into a derelict house in the middle of a forest in the USA. They are there to research the life of a famous artist who is about to be the subject of a Hollywood film. One of the young people is the actress employed to play that artist in the film.
Adler & Gibb is funny and strange and made for adult audiences. It is 90 minutes long.
Adler & Gibb has a cast of four adults. There is also one 8/9 year old girl on stage throughout it. That girl doesn’t say any lines. She will wear headphones. She will be guided carefully and playfully through the performance by the assistant director who will be with her on stage at all times and talk to her through the headphones.
During the show sometimes she will represent things – things other than a girl! Sometimes she will hand the actors props and costumes; sometimes she will sit at the side of the stage and watch; sometimes she will do colouring-in and puzzle books.
We are looking for confident 8/9 year olds who would like to work with us on this fascinating project.
Fee: £25 per show worked.
