All 8th grade parents whose student has a negative meal balance will receive notification from the food service department that money is owed. Please deposit funds into your student’s meal account.

There is NO charging for meals or a la carte items at either high school.

Worthington Schools requires all Volunteers to have a background check before working with students. Go to the district website to access the online system for your clearance.Secure Volunteer is an easy to use system created to help parents and community members get their volunteer badges on their own time. Information about this process can be found at this link:

Volunteers who have not lived in Ohio the last 5 years and those wishing to go on an overnight trip will need a more extensive background check. The website has more information regarding this extensive background check.

Classroom News:

Madame Laird’s (French):

French students are preparing for their final exams. The exams are Tuesday andWednesday, May 16 and 17.

Mrs. Newcomb’s (Spanish):

The bulk of Spanish 1A and Spanish 1b exams will take place in class onTuesday, May 16th and Wednesday, May 17th. The in-class portions of the exam will include listening, reading, writing and culture components. The speaking component will be scheduled with a partner for in-class onFriday, May 12th,Monday, May 15thorThursday, May 18th. Some students will be signed up to do the speaking during their Homeroom period to be sure all parts of the exam will be done byThursday, May 18th.

Students were given an exam overview document which should help guide their studying and practice. All students should be studying 20-30 minutes a night now that the exam is only a week away. Review vocabulary, re-do practices, look over and learn from past formative and summative assessments, use quizlet or find those old flashcards... There are lots of ways to prepare. The key is to start preparing now. :-)

Parents often ask for something to help their kids review over the summer. I can recommend the workbook that should pop up when you follow this link:

It fits very well with our curriculum in Spanish 1 and has answer keys in the back so that students can work through the review at their own pace without a teacher's support. Students who have completed Spanish 1a should be able to do almost half of the workbook and students who have completed Spanish 1b should be able to do the majority of the workbook. :-)

Upcoming Events:

5/22: International Day

5/23: Pool Day

Locker Clean-out

5/24: Last Day of School
