Art Exploration
Sessions: Grades K-5 on Tuesdays 4:30-5:25pm
Instructor: Aran from Aran’s Art Studio
Cost: $15 per class
Students will explore their creativity while using several different types of art media. Fun art projects may include glass fusing, raw clay, pottery painting, polymer clay, and more. Everything needed to create these hand-crafted works of art will be supplied. Instructor Aran is the owner and instructor at the pottery painting and glass fusing studio located in Castro Village.

Beginner Flute
Sessions: Grades 1-8 on Fridays 4:30-5:25pm
Instructor: Michelle Fewx
Cost: $20 per class
In this beginning flute class, students will learn flute basics, rhythm, note-reading, ensemble playing, and beginning ear training. Students must supply their own flute. Instructor Ms. Michelle has been teaching flute and piano for over 25 years, produced recitals for 100s of students, played flute/piccolo in the orchestra pit for over 30 musicals, and performed as a soloist in various chamber ensembles and orchestra.

Beginner Ukulele
Sessions: Grades 1-8 on Fridays 3:30-4:25pm
Instructor: Ozzie Maynard
Cost: $15 per class
These beginner ukulele classes include student instruction on how to tune, read chord charts, play notes, strum chords, and play their first songs. Students must supply their own soprano (standard) or tenor ukulele. If interested, the instructor has a printed list of recommended ukuleles available through Amazon.com in the price range of $50-80. Instructor Mr. Ozzie plays five musical instruments and has recorded, performed, and produced music. He has taught ukulele to classes of over 20 students for the last two years at a private K-8 school in Hayward, California.

Beginner Violin
Sessions: Grades 3-6 on Fridays 2:30-4:25pm

Children’s Choir
Session: Grades 1-5 on Fridays 2:00-3:00pm

The goal of the children's choir is to provide quality Kodaly-based music education by imparting good vocal technique, ear-training, music theory and instruction in reading and writing music, inspiring excellent musical performances, engaged minds and vocal confidence. Drawing Fun
Session: Grade K on Thursdays 4:30-5:25pm
Session: Grades 1-8 on Wednesdays 4:30-5:25pm
Instructor: Qiyang Li
Cost: $12 per class
Enjoy fun and creative drawing projects like cartoon characters, landscapes, animals, and other interesting subjects. Students will explore the use of various media such as drawing pencils, colored pencils, and pastels. Through this class, students will be encouraged to develop a sense of color and style to expand their imagination. Instructor Qiyang Li is pursuing a Masters Degree in Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has won awards for his artwork.

English Writing
Sessions: Grades 3-4 on Thursdays 4:30-5:25pm
Instructor: Lori Moniz
Cost: $20 per class
Common core objectives for each grade are emphasized in all writing workshops. For grades 1-2, students will practice writing complete sentences containing quality details and correct grammar. The focus will primarily be on strong verbs, quality adjectives and specific nouns. For grades 3-4, students will review different genres of paragraph writing. Students will also practice adding quality details to sentences and varying their sentence openers. For all grades, work will be done in class, but students will be expected to complete assignments outside of class time if necessary. Instructor Ms. Lori is a certified Slingerland tutor and has taught composition classes at Pathway Academy for over 7 years.

Kids’ N Keyboards
Sessions: Grade K on Fridays 1:35-2:15pm

This kindergarten class explores the keyboard, key names, keyboard fingering, music symbols, rhythm exercises, types of notes, and simple melodies. Keyboards will be provided for students to use during class time. For more information and to register, please see the attached registration form.

Math Champions
Sessions: Grades K on Tuesdays 3:30-4:25pm
Grades 1 on Mondays 4:30-5:25pm or Wednesdays 4:30-5:25pm

Grades 3-4 on Mondays 3:30-4:25pm
Grades 4-5 on Thursdays 3:30-4:25pm
Grades 6-8 on Tuesdays 4:30-5:25pm
Instructor: Ron LaTour
Cost: $15 per class
These workshops are for students with strong math skills who want to pursue excellence in math in fun-filled and interesting ways. Common core objectives for each grade will addressed. MathKangaroo competition test problems and other word problems are the foundation for this workshop. The focus is on methods of analysis, critical thinking, and having fun with math rather than on "math drills". Pre and post testing is included in the curriculum. Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for the International Math Kangaroo exam in March which will be proctored here at our center. Instructor Ron is a retired electrical engineer with computer science experience who has a passion for helping students better learn mathematical and science concepts.

Passport to Dance

Tutoring & Workshop Fees and Policies
Private Tutoring
· Private, one-on-one tutoring sessions are offered in general math, algebra, writing, and language arts. Each session is 55 minutes long. The fee is $40/session for elementary school students, $45/session for middle school students, and $50/session for high school students and adults.
· Tutoring fees are paid monthly and due by the 10th of each month during the school year. (Fees may be paid weekly during the summer.)
· Tutoring schedules and subjects are agreed upon by the instructor and parent(s).
· Minimum commitment is one session per week for one calendar month.
· To cancel or discontinue tutoring, please inform instructor before the end of the calendar month.
· If tutor is informed of absence at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled session then the session fee may be credited to the following month’s invoice. There is no credit given for missed sessions with less than 24 hours notice. No credits, refunds, or make-up sessions will be offered for any absence of classes due to no-shows or with less than 24 hour notice.
· Tutors will wait approximately 15 minutes for students to arrive for the scheduled session. If student does not arrive within that time, the session is considered missed. If you will be arriving later, please phone the tutor so he/she will wait for your arrival.
Workshops
· Rates for workshops vary so please confirm rate by checking the registration form.
· Tuition for the entire workshop session is due before the first meeting.
· Some workshops may have a minimum and maximum student enrollment.
· Once the workshop has started, there are no refunds, no credit, and no makeup sessions for student absences, missed classes, or withdrawals.
General Policies
· A one-time $35 registration fee per family is required for new students.
· No refunds will be issued once workshops or tutoring have started.
· Refunds will only be offered if BBLC or the tutor/instructor cancels the workshop or tutoring session.
· Please phone the tutor/instructor or the office if student will be unable to attend the session.
