Working with Sexual Violence - 4 Day Accredited Course
The training will be delivered at New Pathways, Cardiff from 9:30am to 4:30pm on the following dates:
Tuesday, 28th November 2017
Wednesday 29th November 2017
Thursday 6th December 2017
Friday 7th December 2017
This course is aimed at counsellors and other therapeutic workers who would like to improve their knowledge of working with sexual violence. Accreditation is achieved by completing a workbook following the course.
The content of the course includes:
- Sexual violence – myths and stereotypes, definitions, impact and service provision
- Working more safely with trauma – phased approach, symptom management
- Sexual violence and the law – anonymous intelligence, pre-trial therapy and note keeping
- Working with sexual violence – perpetrator behaviour, the grooming process, shame and guilt and vicarious trauma
Should you wish to complete the full accreditation, the course costs £600 and will also include the following workshop at New Pathways, Cardiff:
Wednesday, 13th December 2017 from 10:00am to 1:00pm
The cost of undertaking the course without accreditation will be £500.
