RADCLIFFE ATHLETIC CLUB RULES

  1. New members / Guests: All prospective new members will be allowed two weeks to attend any sessions to evaluate if the club is for them, after that period of time they will be required to join as a member (Subject to 2 below.)

New members joining during the club year:All new members (not lapsed members) joining the club will be expected to pay the full subscription feesso that from the AGM in January to 30th September the full fee would be implemented.

New members joining the club:In accordance with the club Constitution any prospective new member applying to join the club will have their membership approved at the next available committee meeting. The committee have the final say on membership subject to an appeals process.

  1. Club organised races: The priority for our races is to ensure we have sufficient marshals on the course and at the start and finish areas to ensure trouble free registration and accurate number & time taking. To this end if you wish to run in one of our organised races you should provide a marshal over 16 years of age to take your place. We have a reputation of providing excellent marshalling of our courses and this must remain so. Members will only be allowed to run if there are sufficient marshals on the day.

Marshals duties: All marshals must be aware of their responsibilities, not only for the safe passage of runners but also for any pedestrians / spectators who have an equal right to be on the roads, trails, bridleways and fells as well as the competitors. Abusive language from competitors must not be tolerated, always note the runners number and the matter can be dealt with post race, when things have calmed down.
  1. London Marathon Club places, qualification:Must have been a member of the club for at least 1 year, i.e. paid club membership twice. Completed at least 3 club races in that year, one of which must be at least 10 miles. A rejection slip or proof of entry to the marathon (i.e. copy of e-mail accepting into marathon ballot) After notification of refused entries a club ballot will take place as soon as we Radcliffe A.C. are notified of the number of club places granted. In the event of insufficient people qualifying for all the club places, the person(s) qualifying would automatically take a place and then the remaining place(s) would be open to a general ballot of club members who have completed the other criteria, after that an open ballot would take place.
