Kent Clover Calf – Elected new officers at their November Meeting. Congratulations to President: Mitch Debnam, V-P: Michael Nickerson, Recording Secretary: Lexi Langenfelder, Corresponding Secretary: Sara Bitter, Treasurer: Aubrey Clarke, Reporter: Kendall Langenfelder, Photographer: Anna Bitter, Birthday Greeter: Gracie Troyer and Pledge Leader: Derrick Troyer. In honor of our nation’s veterans and men and women in service, members then made Thank You cards that will be sent to military personnel.

4-H Project Reminders – what should you be doing with your projects this fall?
Attend upcoming Record Book, Senior Portfolio, Essay and Resume writing workshops!
Public Speaking – make sure you have a designated public speaking event for the projects you plan to complete in your Record Book. Ask your club leader to do a demo, illustrated talk, speech or project update at a club meeting.
November 4-H Record Book Workshops: * A letter to all 4-H’ers required to complete a RB, will be mailed the week of 11/16
- Juniors/Intermediate Regular Record Books – Monday November 30, 2015 at 7:00 pm, Ext. Office – Need help doing a regular (not Mini) record book or a new project record for the 1st time? Sign-up by 11/30/15 at noon.
- Senior RB (Portfolio) Workshop – Monday Nov. 16th, 7:00 pm, Ext. Office – This workshop is for seniors doing a Senior RB/Portfolio for the 1st time or who want to make their RB better! Learn how to do a 4-H Resume and Essay and more. Must register by 11/19 at 12:00 noon. *Seniors who want to try for a 4-H Out-of-State trip must complete a Senior Portfolio.
Senior Portfolio Reminders:
- Portfolio packets are due for Out of State Trips: National 4-H Congress, Miniwanca, West Virginia and Virginia 4-H Congress, are due to State 4-H Office on January 15, 2016. Portfolios are due to the Kent 4-H Office by Jan 6th, where they will be reviewed and returned for corrections. 4-H teens are encouraged to submit a packet for a once in a lifetime trip opportunity. A 4-H senior portfolio consists of an application, resume, and essay. The2016 essay topic is: Write an essay describing the impact that being in 4-H has had on your life.

16th Annual 4-H Toy Drive 3rdCommittee Meeting – Tuesday November 24th, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Extension Office, WITH PIZZA Dinner ALL 4-H’ers are encouraged to be a part of the 4-H Toy Drive. The collection boxes are wrapped and being placed in businesses. Thanks Rachel Jones for all your efforts in Rock Hall. Left: Cassie and Laurie successfully wrap a collection box!
MD STEM Festival: Kent Co. – Thursday November 12, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Public Works Complex Meeting Room
Thanks to the following 4-H’ers who helped with 4-H STEM Night: Jason Douthit (Engineering & Aerospace), Austin Hill (Tractor Safety), Dylan Hill (entomology), Rachel Jones (Dog), Alexandra and Ethan Miller (Dairy Bowl), Cassie Plummer (Dairy Judging) and Adults: Bert Lindauer and Barbara Jones. All the 4-Hers did a great job showing how science and 4-H go together in their area. And they earned service hours too!
Hopefully, there will be a MD STEM Festival 2016. Great job!
Maryland 4-H State Council(formerly Teen Council) is the premier 4-H leadership opportunity in MD 4-H. Are you 13-18 years old and passionate about growing the MD 4-H Program??
