Working Group meeting for Hoby with Rotherby Parish

Meeting 10th January 2017 7.30pm at Hoby Methodist Centre

  1. Present: Cllr Angus Walker(Chair),Stuart Robinson,Cllr Mary Dunford, John Coleman, James Falconer Smith, Vida Gregory, Mark Brend, Garry Barker, John Preston (RCC) and Vic Allsop (Clerk)
  2. Apologies:Cllr Nicola Wheeler, Candice Barker, Stuart Gregory, Cllr Mike Tilling and Cllr David Williams
  3. The meeting opened at 7.30pm; Cllr Angus Walker welcomed our consultant John Preston and all members present.
  4. The minutes of the meeting held on the 6th December 2016 were agreed and signed by the Chair.
  5. Matters arising
  6. Melton Local Plan. Angus gave an update to the meeting of MBC’s recent consultation which concluded just before Christmas and that a submission had been made by Hoby with Rotherby Parish Council.
  7. Youth Consultation. The questionnaire needed to be circulated to those young people who had not been able to attend the consultation. John Preston will compile the young people’s report after these forms have been returned.

  8. Environment and Asset mapping. Information about what Pear Tree Technology and MBC can provide will be circulated to the NDP Working Group for feedback at the next meeting. Action Vic.
  9. A meeting for Chris Ball and the Parish Council is still to be arranged as the Principal is off work until the end of January.
  10. Finance:
  • Further Grant applications will be discussed at the next meeting.
  • Recent expenditure, £159 to Nicky Ainscough for the Youth Consultation, £26 to Rotherby Church for the consultation, £26 to Ragdale Church for the consultation, £126 to Hoby Methodist Centre for meetings in 2016
  • This leaves £1,554.04 in the Parish Council 2016/17 NDP budget
  • Overall with the Groundwork UK Grant NDP monies available are equal to a total of £8.8k
  • A meeting with the Hull family in Ragdale has been arranged by Angus and Mary and will take place next week. Action Mary and Angus.
  • Business Survey. John P. had supplied two surveys for us to look at, these will be circulated to NDP Working Group members. Action Vic.
  • Membership of this Working Group. Angus agreed that he would get in touch with those who do not attend the meetings about continuing or otherwise on the NDP Working Group. Action Angus
  • Photographic Competition. It was agreed that there would now be two winners as we had not been able to identify who had provided a third picture. Winners will be advised and a bottle of wine given to them. Pictures will be put on to the web site and perhaps used in other documents we prepare. Action Vic.
  1. Community Questionnaire
  • Angus explained the process to date
  • The Sub Group of the Working Group had produced a draft document for discussion at this meeting
  • The document was subjected to an extensive scrutiny of its contents by the NDP Working Group members. Notes were taken for the Sub Group to produce a further draft document. Action Sub Group
  • Discussion continued to just gone 10pm
  • It was agreed that the Feb. 7th meeting would confirm a completed document. Prior to that meeting though the document would be shared with Working Group members regularly allowing the Sub Group to respond to any feedback provided to them, and allowing them to complete their work for Feb 7th. Action All
  • It would be discussed at the next meeting about presentation, time scale and distribution and collection of information processes.
