About the Project / PROJECT: Health Systems Strengthening, Quality Improvement, and RMNCH+A Scale-Up (PROGRAM AREA #5: Scaling Up Interventions in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child, and Adolescent Health).
While there have been several efforts to expand activities aimed at improving coverage of RMNCH+A services nationally and in the high burden states, the scale has not been enough to demonstrate impact in several priority areas. Accordingly, a credible plan to implement and scale up proven high-impact RMNCH+A interventions that have been tested and demonstrated globally/nationally to demonstrate improved health partnerships, to both create and strengthening platforms to work with the Government and the private sector - the two main providers of health services - to scale up proven RMNCH interventions will be required.
IPE Global will be leading on this high impact strategy for scaling up the RMNCH+A interventions in 6 states of India, namely, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. Besides this, a national team will be engaged in providing technical assistance to the Government of India on health system strengthening and innovations for delivering results in RMNCH+A.
Scope of Work /
  • Work closely with the National Technical Lead in finalizing the Technical Intervention Package (TIP I) for the “Care around Birth strategy” to be implemented across 133 high case load facilities across 26 High Priority Districts (HPDs) in the 6 project states of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Uttarakhand with the objective of improving quality of care in the labour rooms at these facilities.
  • Support the baselines on competency assessment and record review to be undertaken in these facilities as a part of the Care around Birth strategy
  • Support the organization of state level orientation workshops and district level technical workshops as part of the implementation process
  • Co-facilitate the implementation of the core project strategy of “Care around Birth” across 133 facilities in the 6 intervention states.
  • Undertake regular field visits to the High Priority Districts to review the progress of the intervention in the facilities
  • Support the project M&E team in analyzing data generated over the course of the intervention
  • Support the Knowledge Management Hub in undertaking process documentation of the Care around Birth strategy
  • Support the development of the TIP II as part of the implementation of the Care around Birth strategy.
  • Co-facilitate the roll out of the TIP II package in the intervention facilities.
  • Provide need based support to other project activities as required by the Project Director and National Technical Lead.

Qualifications& Experience Requirements / Post graduate degree in science, public health, or other related areaalong with 4 years of experience in researchin the realm of public health.
