Responsible For: / Maintaining Meath vehicles in line with current regulations, coordinate the transport diary organise the transport diary, take residents off-site to appointments, other services and outings. Plan and carry out essential collections and deliveries.
Job Purpose:
To efficiently co-ordinate the Meath’s transport and make sure that they are in line with current legislation
Principal Accountabilities (Responsibilities):
  1. Work alongside the units, Skills and Enterprise Centre and Social Enterprises to take Meath residents off-site. This will include taking residents to medical appointments when requested.
  1. Collect medication from the local pharmacy on behalf of the Healthcare team and carry out other essential collections/deliveries e.g. for the café, changing perceptions etc.
  1. To carry out the daily checks and maintain the cleanliness of the Meath's vehicles inside and out. To complete all relevant paperwork such as daily write ups, incident forms, outcomes, daily check sheets, risk assessments/ action plans
  1. Ensure that all service requires are scheduled and completed in line with regulatory requirements e.g. services, Mot's, checking permits and Blue badges are in date etc.
  1. To organise the transport diary so that vehicles are allocated to the units and all other departments for appointments, day trips, adult education etc
  1. To carry out all internal driver tests for Meath staff.

The post holder will need to be able to respond to the needs of the Meath as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential
  • To hold a valid Full UK Driving License
  • To be able to communicate with the residents, staff teams and the general public on behalf of The Meath both written and verbal.
Desirable
  • To have an awareness of motor mechanics
  • To have previous experience

  • To be able to refer staff to the relevant policy e.g. in the event of a query, or during induction training.
  • Be aware of the requirement for a high degree of confidentiality with regard to service users and staff.
