The handwriting page will come home Tuesday and will be due Friday.

Continue to practice the formation and sounds of the letters learned so far throughout the week.

Reading:

Instead of the children all exchanging their books on Monday, they now have a “book shopping’ day. Each day a different table will get a chance to exchange books for their reading folder and book bin for the week. (Your child should know what table he/she sits at).

Monday- Table 1

Tuesday- Table 2

Wednesday- Table 3

Thursday-Table 4

Friday-Table 5

Continue to practice the identification of capital and lowercase letters, letter sounds, sight words learned so far, and identifying & writing their numbers.

We will continue to practice “Reading to Someone” or buddy reading.

We will also continue to build stamina by reading independently with our book bins and reading folders each day in our special chosen spots.

We are finishing up our Nonfiction unit.

Writing:

We will continue with our lists and labels unit.

Math:

We will continue chapter 5 this week which includes addition number sentences.

I encourage your child to complete the math packet for fun and extra practice on the skill taught in class.

Please reinforce writing numbers 0-10 at home.

Show and Tell:

Letters z and q

Tuesday and Wednesday

Handwriting: Letter z and q

Reading:

**Review sounds learned so far: You say the sound, they give you the letter and vice versa. Students should be practicing identifying the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet too.

Learned so far: t, b, i, o, u, c, m, n, a, g, f, d, s, e, r, p, j, k, l, h, v, w, x, y

Read each night!

Books will be on one side of their reading folder that they can read at night. Like I stated above, feel free to read aloud to your child. He/she can read any easier books or the guided reading books that we worked on together in class.

Their sight words will be on the other side. Please review those daily and move them to the “learned” side once your child knows them. This folder goes back and forth to school each day.

Practice writing your name with the first letter being a capital letter and the rest lowercase.
