COMPETITIVE SPORTS
Woodland Middle School competitive teams compete against other middle schools in Sarasota County, we do not travel outside of Sarasota County. Transportation will be provided for all students to the games and back to the school after the games. This program consist of Girls Volleyball, Boys/Girls Basketball and Girls/Boys Track. 6th, 7th and 8th graders who meet the following requirements are eligible to try out for any team. For your convenience, forms mentioned below are available on our school website under ATHLETICS. Please contact Coach Rossetti for further information.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2.0 or higher Grade Point Average at the conclusion of each semester, 7th & 8th graders will go by the previous semester
· Completed Middle School Student Athletic Packet
· Physical/Athletic screening. One physical/screening is good for all team sports for 1 year to the date of the physical. Any physical form signed and dated by a doctor will be accepted, does not have to be the one in the packet
· Parent/Guardian Release & Hold Harmless Agreement for Middle School Student Athletic Participation. *Signed and Notarized*
· Students must be younger than 15 years and 9 months for the duration of the sport he/she is participating in. It is MANDATORY that ALL students who participate in our Intramural/Competitive programs here at Woodland have active medical insurance. A copy of the insurance card must be attached to the physical packet
· If needed, you can purchase affordable school insurance through School Insurance of Florida. You may pick up enrollment forms at the school or you can enroll online at http://www.schoolinsuranceofflorida.com/
· Participants MUST attend ALL try-out dates to be considered for a team
