Women’s Volleyball: Santa Ana Drops OEC Opener

SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College women’s volleyball team dropped its Orange Empire Conference (OEC) opener, 3-0, to visiting Riverside College, Friday. The Tigers downed the Lady Dons in three straight games 30-17, 30-16 and 30-20 to improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the OEC.

The loss drops the Lady Dons to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the league.

D’Ann Gorman led the Tigers’ offensive attack with 15 kills in the win. Reanna Conenna added 11 kills and had a game-high four blocks for Riverside while Nickie Reichling finished with 38 assists. Jasmin Rivas led the Tigers with 17 digs.

Jennie Bui (La Quinta HS) and Tiffany Hamilton (El Modena HS) each had a team-high six kills while Korina Fryslie (Trabuco Hills HS) handed out 14 assists. Bui had 11 digs to go along with her six kills while Sarah Goins (La Habra HS) finished with nine digs of her own.
