Women of Mary Meeting Minutes

November 1st ,2017

The meeting was held in the Parish Center and was called to order by President Linda gillespie with 14 members present. The Memorare was prayed by all.

The Pope's intentions were read and for this month are as follows: " That Christians in Asia, bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed may promote dialogue, peace, and mutual understanding especially with those of other religions." Special intentions from members were shared and a Hail Mary followed.

September minutes were approved, there were no minutes recorded for the October Mystery Day trip.

Sue Brown gave a correspondence report as follows: 5 Get Well, 4 Sympathy and 3 Welcome cards were sent since our last meeting.

Linda Gillespie reported that the 21 baked items from Women of Mary brought in $668.00 at the Dinner Auction.

Bereavement team report: Team D will host the Annointing Dinner on November 8th ,2017, and the next funeral luncheon will be served by Team A.

The Help the Hungry Bake Sale will be Saturday November 18th. We will be donating a wreath for their auction. It was decided that the WOM will purchase one at the Craft Bazaar for this donation.

The annual Craft Bazaar will be Saturday November 4th at the gym.

Women of Mary will be Christmas caroling on December 13th at local nursing homes.

Our next meeting will be on December 4th, at 6:30 pm and will be a potluck meal with finger foods. Members whose last names begin with A thru M will bring appetizers and those with last names beginning with N thru Z will bring desserts. Members were encouraged to invite someone to come with them.

The meeting closed with a prayer to St. Michael.

After the meeting cards for Veterans Day were addressed to members of parish families that are in the military, and care packages were assembled for them also, these were blessed by Father Abe.
