About Us

Rev Dr Isaac Quaye

Rev Dr Isaac Quaye is the general overseer of the word of life Christian Centre. He is a respected teacher, pastor, motivational speaker and a leadership development expert. His vision and passion is to take God’s message of hope to a hurting world, lifting people from a life of failure and disappointment to that of achievement and success through the timeless principles of God’s word. For over twenty five years, Dr Quaye’s profound teaching, leadership and healing ministry has taken him to all the six continents as a speaker in conferences, seminars, healing crusades and as a lecturer in various Bible colleges and seminaries. He also presents an inspirational radio programme “The Word of Life Broadcast”, on Sunny FM every Saturday from 6:00am to 60:30am. Rev Dr Isaac Quaye is also the Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of LEAD Associates, a human capita development company. He lives in Accra with his wife Lady Vanessa Quaye and they have a daughter.

WLCC

The ministry started as a fellowship of 15 people meeting at Caprice Hotel for worship and was inaugurated as the Word of Life Christian Centre on 25th of October 1987 in Accra. The church moved to Social Advance Institute located at Adabraka, Accra. During our time at Social Advance, the church grew to over 2000 members and branches were started at Nungua, Odorkor, Ho, and other parts of the country. Cathedral of Hope, the headquarters of WLCC is located on the Manet Court road, off the Spintex Road.

Our vision is to build a church that will be a witness of God to mankind, by perfecting the saints to be eloquent witnesses of God’s manifold wisdom through their life and conduct; spreading God’s message of Hope to a hurting world.

Our Believes

Bible

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the infallible and authoritative word of God and the only rule for Christian faith and conduct.

God

We believe in the one true God, who eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His soon coming to rapture the church, which is His Bride. Also His future personal and bodily return to the earth in power and glory to rule for a thousand years.

Salvation

The redemptive work of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, resurrection and ascension) is both efficient and sufficient for the provision of salvation to mankind and the only way to God.

Baptism

Baptism by immersion is a church ordinance and every believer is to be baptized by immersion even as Christ was.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4) for all believers who ask for it.

The church

The House of God, which is also called the Church, is the most vital institution on earth. It serves as the most authentic chance for god to express His purposes and plans to mankind as well as the body which best shows forth his wisdom and glory in the entire universe. The Church was built and established by Christ as the fore-shadowed in the Old Testament through the various temples (dwelling places) of God. To Moses, God said, “Be careful to build the temple according to the pattern shown you” – Hebrews 8:5. God demanded carefulness in building the temple because of the delicate balance between its divinity and humanity.

Outreach

WLCC’s outreach to our schools and colleges dates back to the late 1980’s. The youth in our schools and colleges have been on the heart of Rev Quaye since his school days. When, hetogether with other colleagues reached out to their peers in other schools with the revival flames of the Holy Spirit. This he has continued till date, patterned after what we call the C3 ie Christ, Character and Career.

These outreaches seek to present Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviourto the students; build Christian Character in them and help them fit into society through the right training and career choice. To help achieve this, we have a mentoring program, where various professionals in our church establish a mentor – protégé relationship with the students to guide them through the realization of their God-given potentials. Some of the schools we have been actively involved in are Aburi Girls Senior High, Ghanata Senior High, Apergosu Senior High, Labone Senior High, Tema Senior High, Nifa Senior High, Oforipenyi Senior High, Odorgonno Senior High, University of Cape Coast, University of Ghana, KNUST, just to mention a few.

Annual Youth Camp

As part of our school outreach program, we started a youth camp in 1989 which we still run every year. A week in the month of August every year, we bring the youth together and invite various ministers and resource persons to come and make both spiritual and intellectual impart into their lives. The annual camp which is attended by youth from the various schools we go to and youth from WLCC and other churches, serve as a follow up tool for us to keep up with the happenings in the lives of our youth. It also helps us identify their individual needs. Even though we do not have a scholarship program students can apply for, we assess individual needs and offer help when necessary. And year after year we receive testimonies of how both the camps and school outreach ministry have changed lives and even save the lives of some of our young people.

2012 School Outreach Program

For the first quarter of 2012, we were at a different school every other weekend. We have held conventions and prayer festivals at Ghanata, Labonne, Tema, Odorgonno and Nungua Senior High Schools so far and we have had over 5000 students come to Christ.

We invite all who are interested, to come join our school outreach ministry. Please contact us to register your interest through the details on the contact us section of this website.

Our 2012 youth camp is coming up in August so parents and youth please check back here at the beginning of July for details.

CHURCH BUILDING COMMITTEE

Introduction

The Church Building Committee was formed in 1996 to source out a parcel of land within a strategic location in the Accra Metropolis, acquire the land and raise funds to construct the church building.

The Committee organized its maiden fund raising the same year (1996) and started searching for a parcel of land to purchase.

A member of the Church offered the current site to the Church and this was accepted. The size of the land is about 1.27-acres.

In 1996 a team of architects was engaged to design the church building which was named the ‘Cathedral of Hope’.

In 2004, after the Committee had decided to re-locate to the current site, another group of Architects was engaged and the church building was designed and finalized with the Committee.

A sod-cutting ceremony was organized and work commenced in 2005.

By 2006 the Committee decided on some alterations to the initial design which necessitated the extension of the church auditorium and the addition of one floor to the office block.

The Church finally moved into the new premises in an un-completed state in April 2010. The first service in the current premises was held on the Good Friday of that year (2010) under canopies within the auditorium because there was no roof at that time. Service was conducted in this state for about two months before the roof was put in place.

Since then, builders’ work has been on-going and is yet to be fully completed.

Membership

The Church Building Committee has a current membership of ten.

Scope of the Committee

The current scope of the Committee include the following

  1. Sourcing funds to complete the building.
  • This includes periodic fund raisings.
  • A weekly contribution by church members for the project.
  • A monthly donation (called ‘Diamond Club’) from some members of the Church who have decided to join the Club.
  • Special donations from members and friends of the Church towards the project.
  1. Making sure there is uninterrupted work on the church building till it is completed.
  2. Ensuring that the premises is safe for members and visitors at all times.
  3. Ensuring that there is co-ordination between the main contractor and all sub-contractors during the execution of the project.

Technical Sub-Committee

The Church Building Committee has a Technical Sub-Committee which is made up of two Civil Engineers, a Property Consultant and an Architect. The sub-committee advises and supervises technical issues on the project.

The Future of the Committee

The current Church Building Committee is expected to metamorphosize into a Project Committee which will oversee all the projects that the Church will be embarking upon in the future and managing same on completion.

WHAT IS USHERING IN THE CHURCH?

It is about service in the House of God (the Church), ushers are the ultimate servants in the church, their main responsibility is to take care of the needs of their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus as well as any guest and visitors present on any day. As results, ushering is one of the most important services a Christian can perform in service to God and man.

W.L.C.C USHER

Word of Life Christian Centre is a family made up of various groups including the USHERING department which is headed by TheophilusNiiTackieWelbeck. The department has a membership of sixteen people made up of both elderly and young men and women. The ushering department has a close working relation with all the departments in the church especially the protocol team and the car park attendants.

USHERS DUETIES

  1. Greeters: the most important duty of an usher is to bid a warm welcome to those coming to the church at the entrance especially to new comers and visitors.
  2. Assist visitors and members to their seats
  3. Taking of offertory and tithes
  4. Assist pastors and the congregation on receiving of communion
  5. Making sure the church program runs smoothly

WHO CAN JOIN

Servitude is the heart of ushering; you are meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the church, not to mention representing the church to anyone else that may come walking through the door. Through your actions and demeanor you are a representative not only of the church, but of the Lord Jesus Christ as well. So if you want to join the ushering department you must have the following.

  1. You must be a full member of the church
  2. You must be born again and be baptized
  3. Must be 18 years of age and above
  4. Must adhere to guidelines of the departments
  5. Must agree to the doctrine of the church
