Winter Is Coming! Download the MySBI app!

Student Transportation Services is pleased to offer the MySBI mobile app to receive instant notifications of school bus delays, and cancellations. Winter Dress

With the ever changing weather, please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately with hats, boots, mittens and warm coats. This is also a great time of year to wear layers so that children can adjust their clothing as the temperature warms throughout the day.

Our students enjoy playing outside twice a day for twenty minutes each break and we want all of them to feel comfortable.

Sports Updates

Sr. Basketball

Senior basketball will be starting this month for both our boys’ and girls’ teams. Have your student listen to announcements for dates and times.

Senior Girls’ Volleyball

The senior girls had a successful season that saw them win more games than they lost. The coaches would like to thank all of the players for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

Senior Boys’ Volleyball

Thank you to the Senior Boys Volleyball Team for their hard effort throughout the entire season. Your positive attitudes and eagerness to approach new challenges during practices and mid game situations were always appreciated. Let’s continue this positivity and effort into the classroom!

Inclement Weather

In cases of severe weather, listen to CFCO (AM 630 and FM 92.9), CKSY (FM 94.3) and Cool FM (FM 95.1) beginning at 6:30 a.m. Information is also posted at School Bus Info. Follow the School Bus and Weather Info link on the LKDSB website. We are located in ZONE 8.

KinderSTARt

KinderSTARt is a special one day event for parents to register their children for Junior Kindergarten or are new to Senior Kindergarten. It is a great opportunity for parents and children to learn more about school together. The program is offered in partnership with the Best Start community service partners. Through KinderSTARt children and parents have an early opportunity to visit the school and meet staff in preparation for Full Day Kindergarten in the fall of 2017. We also welcome younger siblings (18 months – 3 years) to attend. Our Community Partners are there to offer helpful information about getting ready for school, such as ages and stages of growth development, good nutrition and healthy living tips and immunization. Victor Lauriston School will host KinderSTARt on Thursday February 15, 2018 from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Skating

Students in Grade 3-8 participate in skating at Memorial Arena. This program is designed for students to be physically active and participate in something they may not do outside of school. When students are at the arena, the vending machines, snacks and canteen are off limits to students. They are not permitted to bring money to buy snacks during class skating outings.
